I'll put something here soon. Him soon.
![]() Spoilers (for those who haven't read) abound. ----- Something (it looks long, but it's nice an skimmable ):To start off, I quite like the name. I will have to leave you guessing as to where I got the inspiration for it from. It would make me look like amateur if I let on that it influenced the storyline significantly, so I shan't. ![]() It took so long for a variety of, probably not very good, reasons. It wasn't that I was (so) lazy and just didn't write anything, it was that everything I wrote just didn't float my boat. I wrote about double the amount of material that I actually posted, because I kept deleting stuff that didn't make the grade (usually the next day upon re-reading). I think that some of the ideas that I had became boring, stale and obvious to me because I left them so long, contributing to this constant deletion of writing .Even the stuff I liked, a lot of it I got rid of because we need some characters left to interact with at this stage of the season, and also for continuity reasons. I couldn't keep doing this indefinitely so eventually I just posted what I had, i.e. this. It really was a blood bath at one point. ![]() One of the things that was most annoying was the large amount of plot I was unaware of, partially because it wasn't significantly picked up in the discussion, and because I'd forgotten/not read everything thoroughly enough. One glaring point would be that Desmond was ready to tell everyone about the boat in 108's eppy... and apparently forgot to do so. I couldn't think of any logical reason for this other than what was presented, i.e., conveniently nothing, so I've just ignored it, perhaps leaving it possible that he has some unmentioned reason for being so slow. Of course he's also been secretly recruiting some folk it would appear, but that doesn't explain everything. At the end of one of the scenes in Beachy's episode, Richard and Widmore hear some weird noise and dismiss it as an animal, and are apparently wrong to do so. I didn't forget about this, I just didn't write anything about it (before anyone asks why I didn't follow up on that ).Kate's lack of an appearance at the beach is also noted, I didn't just forget she existed or anything. ![]() I also learned practically all of the Lost Experience before writing this to make sure that it wasn't all complete fabrication. As it happens, hardly anything I learned made it in reference wise - it still easily fits into the established history of the Black Rock though. A nice fact would be that, as the ship went missing in 1881, it means Richard is currently about 135. ![]() There's a lot of implied 'stuff' in my episode. Paying attention to actual words used, and also the timing of seemingly random events, may give rise to interesting questions. Of course, some of it may not come to fruition because I'm not writing the rest of the episodes, but it's food for thought. There's also some references to, em, stuff, theme wise, but it's not too important at all. ![]() Talking of themes, I had, for the longest time, Richard beating himself up about being a failure as a leader, but it just seemed a) too cheesy, and b) too hard to make convincing over only a few flashbacks. Obviously him turning out to Jacob would make him the ultimate leader, albeit, not actually perceived as one. There are few remnants of this left in, but it still applies I guess. And Richard being revealed as Jacob, isn't as random as it might seem at the end. There are clues everywhere. Just look at the title for crying out loud. It makes sense in our context, but I've came to the conclusion that in actual Lost, it's not a very likely possibility.Oh yeh, Michael's back. ![]() BTW, I can actually write. There is much **** poor writing when introducing scenes and stuff (and also the final scene grates my cheese nerves), but a lot of it is just laziness/time constraints. ![]() I've babbled on for too long now, aimlessly, but I won't fall into the EPU trap of killing discussion before it's started any more than I already have. :P There's much more stuff I could comment on, but I'll leave it for this now. some stuff: Amazon.com: The Orion Prophecy: Will the World Be Destroyed in 2012: Books: Patrick Geryl Electromagnetic theories of consciousness - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Break a leg Toby. ![]()

That's fine. If you just pretend it's superb, regardless of whether it is or not, all will be well.

Matchy: My god, that is the most skilled piece of writing that I have ever laid my eyes upon.
You're a literary genius. Rest in peace."The twists and turns of Him's fiction are built on a knack for sustained illusion. When he writes "a glass of beer", we do not just see it; we are willing to drink from it vicariously. The ballooning accident (imaginatively derived from footage of an actual incident) that opens Enduring Love is a spectacular example, but the ability to make the invented seem real animates every page of his work." Wow, I read it, and I thought it was wonderful. Richard is Jacob.... interesting... and even more info to note, such as Richard's origin.
It was well worth the wait... well, maybe not... but it was still awesome. ![]()

Good stuff Him!
Richard's quite ruthless, isn't he?! I really like the idea of him being Jacob though, and it was nice to see his flashback and learn some more about the Black Rock in all its glory days of being a slave ship! And I wouldn't worry about not mentioning Kate, since she is pretty forgettable But it would be just typical if poor Locke was to get shot by Ben. Again.

![]() I know I'm a little late but I finally read it. Loved it. ![]() I think the 'previously on Lost' stuff helped a lot with stuff we've missed out/forgot etc about. So that was nice, especially for me as it's been ages since I last read them all. So it filled in the gaps for me! I liked Alperts story, I hadn't really thought about it myself but him having been ill to some extent makes a lot of sense. I also think it's possible (although I can't see it happening, now..) that Alpert is pulling the strings. He's been a very passive character, Ben's right hand man unwilling to oppose. I think that's exactly how a puppeteer would act if he knew he could influence people another way. It reminded me a bit of how we first perceived Ben (the then Henry Gale). It's gotten a little confusing with who's backstabbing who, but I think I've got it right. ![]() I also thought that 'Alperts choice' was very 'Lost-like', in that it was a questionably grey area. You can understand why he doesn't want the Island's power available to the world (with great power, comes great responsibility and so on). I loved Locke's "He may still have a role to play" (OWTTE) in response to killing Ben. Very Locke- esc ![]() But yes, a great episode. I know, generally, the continuity has been pretty poor but overall I think we've done OK thus-far. ![]() I do hope this is still continuing? We're so close to the end and I would love to see a conclusion! ![]()
