Yes I probably could have reduced the episode's length even more but it just really didn't read right with any more missing, so well done for getting through it! Especially since my original draft was about twice the length that I actually put up, lol.
And I hope it's not that confusing for future writers to follow on from, but any questions feel free to ask ![]()

Awesome Ki. I loved the flashback in particular. Poor Locke
As per usual, someone took him for a ride. Though, I'm not sure how I feel about Alpert selling out (if, indeed he has) as it seems a little out of character - but that's just my opinion. ![]() And what did Ben tell Sawyer? I presume it was about that 'Man in Black' (inspired by Sam Neill's character in Event Horizon??) trying to kill Kate ![]() And what the hecky peck happened to Locke?? "He broke six of your toes, pulled most of the nails out and left a large slab from your left foot lying near the bottom of that tree." Err ouch? ![]() Very good epi though. And brilliantly written (that's how I write, usually..) though I think I'll try writing it as a script, you pulled it off well. I'm a fan of descriptive writing styles so I enjoyed this ![]() I still think we should have a thread with all the loose ends on (he says as his episode approaches) ![]() EDIT: Also, I'm not sure if you were trying to? Or if maybe I'm totally wrong. But I got a very 'Even Horizon' feel from this - was that your aim? ![]() Great stuff though ![]()

Very very good Ki and I honestly don't mean to be the buzzkill but we did say about 3 pages on Word and yours was just over 8.

I'm most dissapointed in you Wiz...dissapointed, but not surprised :PQuote:
Having Locke get conned and abondoned in his flashback isn't exactly an original angle to take I know, but I wanted to give him a connection to Robert, and Locke tends to suffer in his FBs anyway so it's quite true to the show really, lol. And yeah I can see how it would seem a bit strange for Richard to act like that, but I wanted to make something of Widmore and co getting darted other than it being the Others saving the day, so it's open to interpretation whether Richard really is selling out, whether he'll change his mind at the last minute, whether he's long conning Widmore...who knows, lol. I tried to make it seem as if he's having doubts about it so that future writers don't feel too constricted and pressured into writing Richard as siding with Widmore. He may have said that about Kate and the Man in Black, or he may not have, lol. It might be about another woman entirely that Sawyer knows... Lol yeah, that was the end result of when Robert tortured Locke in 108's episode to get Locke to talk about the Others. I figured that Robert would focus on what Locke valued most in order to get him to speak, but it didn't work. And that Locke doesn't really mind the pain, since he's more interested in the fact that he can actually feel the pain in his legs at all. Ah thanks...I find it very difficult to write in script because I just find it too restrictive, whereas in prose it's more of a natural style because you can just write without having to stop the flow of a conversation or action sequence in order to format the script. But each to their own, and the scripts so far have been great and I'm sure yours will too! No you're right I was trying to get a bit of Event Horzion feel into it, lol. I watched it just before writing so that did influence me! The main reference to it is Locke stepping over into Jacob's hut, and I had wanted to do a scene where Locke becomes really Weir-like and gets further drawn into his devotion to the Island when he meets up with Jacob again, but I cut that out. I imagined Locke as becoming - or will eventually become - like a watered down version of Weir towards the ship, where he will do almost anything for the island/Jacob, but doesn't go so far as to kill everyone and send them all to hell, lol. And the Man in Black wasn't based on anyone actually...his description is just a creepy one that I imagined! Quote:

And yeah I know that was the limit but is anyone's story dead on three pages? Personally I don't think it's very easy to write a substantial episode on only three pages and I'm sorry if it really was that long to get through, but I did cut a great deal of it out, lol.

But I was so tired and confused after reading it that was all I could muster I am starting to dread my episode now with all these loose ends appearing, maybe I shall have to tie them all in one giant bow before blowing them all up with an atomic bomb ![]() Quote:

I had never made a connection between Weir (in Event Horizon) and Locke until I read your epi, but the similarities are rather obvious when you really look at it ![]() And the Event Horizon itself also shares many traits with the Island: it has it's own personality, it's very haunting, and also seems to be playing with it's inhabitants - excellent ![]()
