No chance of a prize for best episode?
Oh, almost forgot - basically, yes indeed - once all is said and done, I think it would be quite fun to host a Community-wide poll for the best episode and the winner of that will get Survival Points/Rep Points/an award thingy in their avatar section/pride of the nation..and i'll see if I can dig into my purse (:P) and come up with a Lost-related prize of somesort

I don't think you should be planning a story so soon because with all the other episodes before yours anything can happen, so I say have a general idea because I think it'll make thigns mroe coherent if you follow the story that is being told rather than try and steer it off and tell your own.

It's obviously not an overall plan/brief but I have to have one main crux or idea to base everything else that happens around. I'll base everything that has already been written into this main idea and crux when it gets to me. But I already have the main idea surrounding my episode (it may change but it is the main foundation) plus I already have the ideas for a Juliet flashback. So can I either reserve her (nice thought) or can people please just leave her for moi?

By the way nice idea for the prize KoR. Even if Competitive Johnny only wanted to do it for the prize :P

Personally i dont mind you having Juliet, but then is that fair for one person to have a pre-selected character but not the others? The thing is, I think it's dangerous to have a pre-conceived idea of what your episode will be like, because you're taking eppy 15, right? I mean, none of us know what the landscape of the story will be like by that stage. I think we should be prepared to tae the story in the best direction for the 'story' itself. I mean what will you do if by the time the story reaches you, Juliet has been revealed as being a manefestation of the island (silly example, i know)?

I'm not saying we shouldn;t have a template in mind, but i think that we should all be prepared to sacrifice out own stories for the greater good, so to speak.

Just my general thoughts.

Hmm..ok, shal we start listing all of the characters that we think should be 'UP' for a centric..and then even if we have 20 listed - that would be the 'pool' that we'd have to choose from - which would mean that 4 character might not get a centric, but at least it gives us writers a wider choice?
I'm cool with that. We should create a Charater pool thread for reference etc.

I agree with that and I understand totally where you're coming from but I'll just use my answer to Orson for this:

It's obviously not an overall plan/brief but I have to have one main crux or idea to base everything else that happens around. I'll base everything that has already been written into this main idea and crux when it gets to me. But I already have the main idea surrounding my episode (it may change but it is the main foundation) plus I already have the ideas for a Juliet flashback. So can I either reserve her (nice thought) or can people please just leave her for moi?

Obviously if people want to take her character in one direction prior then I shall have to incorporate that into the story I want to tell. As I've said I can understand where y'all are coming from but I would be much happier having this as a sort of safeguard. If other people aren't happy with me pre-selecting then perhaps it would be better for them to pre-select, I don't know.

Well theres only around 20 possible ones... and those include Rose/Bernard, and others lessers like Richard.
So... who knows.

I made a list up the page... but I'll make a thread too if you want.

I don't think their shoudl be any pre-selection because that could limit what people want to do and where people take the story because they're going to be thinking about what other people want when they should just focous on the story at hand.

Haha... I think a rule of thumb should be, don't take all the main characters for the first 4-5 episodes.
or we are going to end it all with an Isabel finale.

Also, keep in mind who has recently had a centric at the end of last season.
We don't want to start this off with Jack... because, his last episode was the last episode.
A double one at that.
Sawyer on the other hand would work... because he only had a flash back in Ep 4. That was 18 episodes ago.

Just something to keep in mind.
