There are said to be 3 dimensions in reality - length, width and height (depth). The fourth dimension is believed to be time and space. I propose that the story-telling medium for LOST's 5th season will be that of the "fifth die mention".
With that, let me explain: We're running out of mediums. We've had flashbacks/forwards, on island, off island, spliced-forwad-backs..we've had alot of different mediums, each challenging and pushing our favourite actors to the nth degree. However, with the story resting as it currently is, I propose the lukewarm possibility that we could be about to witness the fifth die mention of LOST story-telling. The fifth die mention, not to be confused with the "fifth dimension" is intentionally named. It refers to the metaphorical 'death' of several main characters in the 'fifth' season of LOST. By metaphorical death, i'm speculating that we might, for the very first time, have open character transference. That is, we might see instances where our Losties consciousness is jumbled-up in time and space causing the likes of Locke to be Ben, Jack to become Locke and so on (with limitations). Of course this is a wacky idea and should not be taken too seriously, the only purpose is to make you consider the possibilities. We've had it inferred that the island can ressurect the dead, possesing the residue of their (sub)conscious souls. With that in mind, is it so impossible that the in a bid to return to the island, several of our main characters will unwittingly swap consciousness'. This would not only provide a real challenge for our actors (imagine Matthew Fox having to take on the persona of John Locke!?) but it could provide us with an interesting and purposeful story-telling medium. ==== As an aside: It's often been speculated that the island posses the souls/spirits/being of those who have died on the island, be it through dreams, visions, manifestations - Christian, Horace, Boone, Yemi are just a few examples. However, isn't an alternative possibility that the dead become the island, in that the dead control the sentient processes of the island and not the other way around. It's only a subtle difference in passing, but if you think about it there's a world of difference between the island posessing the dead and the dead possesing the island. I just thought i'd mention my thoughts, which have now transferred into possibilities.
