We are playing a game. But it's not one that we can change the rules. We, the viewers, can shape and influence these rules, but we can not change them, for what is to be, will be.
This theory argues that LOST the TV show was always meant to be. It was fixed in the future, which is now the past and the present. We are living the experience with eyes wide closed. A part of something that we were destined to be a part of. Do you question your own love for this show, or do you simply embrace it? Perhaps you do both, with weekly critiques of the best and the worst moments from each episode? But what you question, you are "supposed" to question. Is this your choice? Why no, it was meant to be, just as LOST was always meant to be. We all know the ending of LOST because we are each connected to the experience. We just don't yet know that we know because we are yet to know future experiences. Yet it was always meant to be. It has been, it is here, it will be. You are young John Locke. Here are four items..which ones belongs to YOU already?: 1. A Watch 2. A Fossil 3. A Photo 4. A Calendar I know which one you chose. You chose TIME because you are, you have been and you will be a part of it. Different things but one in the same. Lost was always meant to be, we cannot change the future of the show. Or can we..? Part II coming near.

Roc you blow my mind! Lost was "always meant to be" just as we here at the LC were always meant to be. A small select group of people who were destined to come together to discuss a show that was destined to be discussed. To be discussed in the present, the past and the infinite future.

Glad you understood my post
The question of of what was, what is and what will be is an interesting one within the confines of LOST, so why not extend it to our viewing experience - we the audience are as involved as the characters. The creators constantly reference the fact that we're involved:"Maybe it's from another place..or time" "It's for the aliens (the runway)" "Who the hell is Jacob?" "Who's Nikki and Paulo?" "We were ALL brought here for a reason" ..and many more allusions to fan questioning and debate. It could be argued that this represents us being 'stuck' to the show, and it's own mechanism of past, future, present. Has Locked lived his life before, hence Alpert's visitation of him as a child? Have we lived our LOST experience before, hence our unique sense of attachment to the show? In a past viewing experience was I a Sawyer fan? Like young Locke, have we all gone from one thing (the knife) to another (the book of laws)? ![]()
