Miles & 3.2 million and the fake flight 815

When Tom showed Michael the photo of the graves that had been dug up to provide the 300 and so bodies it got me thinking.

The 3.2 million Miles asked for corresponds really closely with the amount of bodies down there. So it works out at around 100'000 a body (I think).

Given Miles "skill" do you think he wants that money to recover the bodies and put them back because he can somehow hear there discomfort from the afterlife?


324 people unearthed from their place of rest and dumped in an oceanic trench would surely provide a loud psychic/supernatural "shout" or backlash.

That actually makes a lot of sense... didn't he seem like he was being deafened by something in a previous episode or am I imagining that...coz then that could be the dead people showing their discomfort from the afterlife. Anyway, good theory

A thread about 4.08 I can see! That's a really interesting idea. My major qualm, though, is with the whole idea of the fake plane being filled with bodies from a Thai cemetery. We saw the face of the fake pilot and it looked identical to that of the real pilot: Frank only knew it wasn't him because of the lack of a wedding ring, not because it looked nothing like the man he knew. I also don't believe that anyone could desecrate a cemetery so profoundly without its becoming a major story - or that they could find 300-odd bodies, all next to one another, that had been buried for the correct length of time to pass for the plane crash victims. So I have doubts about that entire story - at least, I hope for the sake of Lost's continuity and general credibility that the story does turn out to be fake. Otherwise there are too many unbelievable errors.


But if the writers are going with that story, I think your twist would make a great next step!

Hey that's a nice idea.

I don't personally subscribe to it, as I do think that Miles is fine and simply wants the money cos he's a sell-out con-man who all about the Dollar.

However, you pose an intriuging premise - the idea that his gift is also a curse and that he is haunted by the dead. This would suggest that he has less 'control' over his ability than we current think (ala Walt, perhaps?) and it would also add a few sympathetic dimensions to his character.

Again, i don't believe this to be the case but it's a nice idea all the same. This angle has room for further development tho
