Jacob's Cabin - A haven for the dead?

I am wondering whether 'Jacob's cabin' is where people's spirits (and/or bodies) go when they die? The idea came from watching 4.01...obviously we see Christian Shepherd in there, and surrounding the cabin we hear whispers including the names 'Nikki' and 'Sarah' (Christian's name for Ana-Lucia). My theory is that the whispers are the dead trying to communicate with the survivors. I think that everyone who dies on the island or whose body is on the island congregates at the cabin. Why? I'm not sure...perhaps for Jacob (who i believe is a sort of spirit) to use their bodies? Any ideas?

Also, does anyone think the eye at the window looks like Paulo? It was my dad who said that, i looked at it again and i'm not sure...i dont think it is him, i think i'd know if it was, but it looks more like him than some other suggestions. Does anyone have the picture?

It is very possible - perhaps the dead go their to combine their energies? Who knows. I wonder whether Ben has ever seen anyone inside the Cabin besides Jacob. I still maintain Jacob was throwing a house party.

One would assume the whispers were coming from inside the Cabin, but I would also have to point out the man who stared at Hurley may not be a ghost. He looked awefully physical to me, i.e. solid.

Yes, i thought that...perhaps their bodies are in the cabin (Christian's wasn't in the coffin so it has to be somewhere), and their spirits can be anywhere on the island?? Hence the whispers being heard all over the place.

Christian and Yemi's bodies both vanished. However my point was that the person who stared at Hurley was actually a living, breathing person - who who I do not know.

Spirits tend to stay in one place, i.e. a house or the place they passed away in - however for whatever reason they are all going to the Cabin. Summoned by Jacob perhaps? But yes we have heard them in a variety of locations, so one would assume the spirits move around.

If the whispers are indeed the dead this is interesting because we heard whispers long before any of the Survivors died. Which means we have been hearing Islanders from years ago - Dharma employees and so forthe.

but i've got a feeling Miles is going to find that cabin. perhaps when they all get together again (which i'm assuming team jack and team locke will have another get together soon) hurley tells them about the cabin then hijinks will follow

Well Eko kicked up a rather large fuss that Yemi was not there upon revisiting the plane in S3. Of course Locke tried to convince Eko that Yemi's body was turned to ashes.

oh i've only seen the beginning of season 3 once well that makes a good point. i wonder if everyone who was buried is still there? morbid, i know i doubt they'll be dug up to find out lol

i couldnt imagine one of the survivors being like "hmm well lets dig up all the body's and see if their still there"
