Hmm, after rewatching what Charlotte Malkin told EKo at the airport i got thinking..do the people who die in this programme really die..or are they just "between places"..or both?:

Charlotte "..And I know you probably think I'm crazy, but I have a message for you and I promised to deliver it"

Eko "A message?"

Charlotte "He (Yemi) says you were a good priest...I saw him when I was - between places. He said that you would come and see me. He said that even though you were pretending, you're a good man...He wants you to know that he will see you soon. He said that even though you don't have faith in yourself, that he has faith in you"

What im trying to suggest is this - are people like Yemi the forces who try to guide our losties on the island? We know that the losties have had dreams and visions..but could these dreams and visions not be the manipulative work/tests by Hanso foundation [or whoever] but instead be the messages directly from dead relatives and loved ones such as Yemi, Boone or even dead people withÂ*Â*agrudge to bear such as Wayne and Frank Duckett? [in which case they would be trying to hinder the losties].

So basically could we have a situation whereby this special island enables those "in between places" [between life and death?] to operate at a subconcious level whereby they can send messages and signs to the losties and even influence there decisions/choices?

For example..look at Eko's dream..both Ana-Lucia and Yemi appeared. Now perhaps they were both "between places"..and like Eko suggests, were trying to guide him/them forward.

Well, thats my main theory..but another thought..are these people..the dead, the 'real' Others? Afterall, they can influence events/situations? Also..are they the ones who create the whispers? Are the whispers the voices/messages directly from the mouths of the dead?

Interesting idea, to say the least.
Though Boone was very much alive when he appeared in Locke's dream, as was Eko, but I admit the dead character seem to do a bit more guiding...

That means Sawyers parents could be guiding him, Christian, Wayne, Boone and Shannon could be doing so too. Interesting theory, I like it. Sixth senseish
