Default Did Jacob Steal Walt's Power?

OK, I don't have much to go on apart from the "Room 23" Mobisode, but I'm wondering whether Jacob stole /borrowed Walt's power?

The reason why is because 1. Ben (or Jacob) wouldn't allow Walt to leave the island unless they got what they needed and 2. when Ben took Locke to meet Jacob, he started using what I can only describe as 'telekensis' to move objects about the room (due to being scared by the light from Locke's torch) - however, Ben exclaimed "Stop it! You've had your fun!" - which in retrospect strikes me as Jacob possibly 'testing' out his 'new found' abilities, and Ben pleading with him to pack it in.

Could it be that the Others finally found a way to 'control' Walt - by tsomehow ransferring his abilities to Jacob? After all, it was Jacob who apparently wanted Walt - I presume he already knew Walt was "special" and wanted him for a reason?

Of course this is only speculation and it needs alot more foundation before it can hold water, but I'll put it out there and perhaps come back to it at some point. Any views are welcome.

I am starting to believe that Jacob has been punished by God - whilst I am equally of the belief that Ben is containing him, I am now also of the opinion that "God loves you as he loved Jacob" is a reference to the idea that God has placed Jacob in this almost 'non physical' state because he has been punished.

Infact something Sun said in S1..and in her recent Mobisode, makes me wonder whether 'punishment' is a bigger theme than we think:

"No. It’s too late. This place. It’s my punishment. It’s my destiny. "

Interesting that Sun (and others) should believe the island to be their punishment..their destiny..something which they cannot change. I'm beginning to think that God has punished Jacob - perhaps for attempting to use the island's power in a destructive way..or perhaps for abusing God's trust?

Jacob, in my understanding, has taken on a 'God-like' status..certainly amongst Ben and the Others. Could it be that God has now turned his back on Jacob and the island - "God can't see this island". Can't..or wont?

Perhaps it's not so much that Jacob has been contained..but rather the 'island' has been contained..cut-off, left to float in a sea of time..only "nothing stays buried forever".

The freighterites have located the island and their goal in my opinion is to either manipulate time..or to use the island's properties for war, greed or both.

Jacob, who is still at odds with God, now needs "help" to break free and protect the island..and break the curse which has been bestowed upon him.
