Default Walking in your shoes.

Bear with me as I have an idea but haven't really gota lot of back up so I'm looking for ideas to prove I'm on the right track or completely off it!!
I've seen a few threads where peopl have thought that people may be people who we allready know, like Boone/Aaron- Annie/Mrs. Locke, if not the same people then going through the same sort of life.
I remember the first thing that got me looking for clues was the shoe when Jack wakes up, I assumed it was a reference to the trainers that Christian was wearing later. When Charlie died the image of his shoe was significant, but again I didn't know why.
Now the first time Locke scared me was when he did the orange peel smile to Kate, and this was as Kate was trying on someone elses shoes.
Like I said I haven't quite worked out what I'm trying to say but it seems a few of the "oooh" moments have involved footwear and with the other theories I thought walking in others shoes could have somesort of relevance. Can anyone explain what my brain is trying to work out???

Well, I see what you're saying. Not sure what the theory is though

But yeah, I'd say walking in other peoples shoes is important to do. Both for the characters on the show (with each other), and us as we try and understand the actions of the characters

I'd like to think I'd react differently (better) than some characters in some situations, but I'd also no doubt react worse to other situations than others, too.

I like to think I do this a lot (empathy), as it helps gain perspective over actions

Nice spot there

I will reply to this in greater detail when I am in the mood, however I think this could be yet another reoccuring theme in Lost as we have seen with the Survivors' eyes in episode beginnings, repetitive phrases [e.g. see you in another life; Desmond, Nadia] and other themes that pop up over time.

There could very well be some signifiance to this.

p.s. I will begin replying to everyone's posts in the theory threads soon, it is just I have not had Lost on the brain in order to reply to the big posts. But I have not forgotten about them.

Thanks for your comments, as I said I don't actually know what I'm trying to say, just that I'm sure it could be a clue. Another thing was all the kids were bearfooted when they were walking through with their teddybear, yet another oohhh scene. We know that the others look after the children, so could this be that they are pure so don't walk in anyone elses shoes?? I'm going to have to start looking at footwear now as well as all theother things!!

Maybe the barefooting was to eliminate tracks/trails? Or perhaps the children lost their footwear in the crash? Well we know that children are taken because they're mentally pure and can be "brainwashed" by the Others in terms of their upbringing. I am not sure how footwear could affect this.

Perhaps the focus on footwear is in regards to the Survivors wishing they were in someone else's shoes - i.e. OFF the island. Maybe our feet link with our souls or something like that. Christian's white trainers/shoes in S1 definitely wanted us to focus on them - either that or it was a serious wardrobe malfunction.
