My New Feelings on Libby

The otherday I watched 'Live Together..' and I saw the scene where Libby offers to give Des her boat..

Although the theories of her being a Dharma spy (etc) are still valid, I'm starting to think that she simply lost her mental health after losing her partnet (the one who bought her the boat). The reason being is because it would explain her being in Hugo's mental hospital and it could also explain her being so secretive (i.e. not telling him that she recognised him from Santa Rosa etc)..afterall for alot of people it carries some stigma and perhaps she wanted him to see her as the person she was at the time of the episode, rather than the person she was..afterall, i'd imagine that there would be alot of heartache associated with those times for her..

Perhaps he dilemna (if there was one), came due to the fact that she knew she could help Hugo be telling him everything and acting as an example to him..showing him that despite their past breakdowns they can still survive and repair themselves, just like she had. Perhaps she battled within herself to tell him, but couldn't find the courage for fear of rejection..or fear of reminding herself of those times and being mentally taken back to her previous mental state

Perhaps the true reveal (if she is to ever have one) would be the 'way' in which she got healthy again and the way in which she 'fixed' herself. I think this could still make for a remakable and heart-warming story.

Tho of course the consiracy angles are very much valid..just thought i'd throw this into the fire

I think she's dead as a dodo..but she could re-appear as a vision of somekind

If she does, I hope she brings her blondish-brown wig..did wonders for her

Never really made much of Libby. She was dead wood in a way but I think she had to be killed off because Des was in the process of becoming a regular and would have said in a scottish accent "I knoo yoo"

I did read a theory that Libby was a "time traveller" like Mrs Hawkings. Its a bit ludicrous but I suppose its a possibility ifd she knew Des needed a boat to get to the island but I think it was just a co-incidence. I have to admit I have forgotten what she said in her Desmond flashback but also her Eko Flashback at the airport.

ALthough I liked to know why Libby was in the mental ward I don't really think it would be "vital" to the overall arc of Lost especially with 16 episodes each season lets not waste one. However, even if she is a dharma employee - it would be cool from a retrospect point of view but mainly pretty pointless cos shes dead so it don't matter!

As long as its not That brown wig which made her look like Kates mum or something!

Yes but it would only "fill in gaps" it wouldn't create future dilemmas for Hurl (who is in need of a plotline).

If for example Michael returned, Hurl beat him up to a pulp then it was revealed Libby was a spy anyway and Hurl has to apologise to Michael then that maybe cool but I don't see that happening!

I think they will bring something major out of libby. She never got a flashback of her own. She wasn't around for long.

Why make someone such a regular and not sasy much about them?
