Ok..false advertising..i dont know for sure where he is (or if he's still alive)..but i was thinking..there must be a reason why they named him Marvin 'Candle' in the Swan Orientation film and 'Wickmond' in the Pearl Film..

Both those names seem to allude to fire (Candle..Wick..mond)..

So..maybe..just maybe this is a clue that he's in the Flame Hatch?

Good spot when I started reading the thread I thought of flame too.

I have to admire how korevo seems to be a lost theory machine. How do you keep churning them out man?

lol, not sure, just try to come up with different angles and ideas..though im suprised that i didnt think of this 'possibility' sooner.

Of course, you and SR could be right, it might just be a coincidence..i hope its not as it would be awesome to see him in the Flame hatch (asumming he's alive and we ever get to see that particular hatch).

Imagine Locke's face when/if he meets him - he'd probably ask for his autograph

lol, though in jest may lie some truth..perhaps he (and Dharma) and Widmore have formed an alliance of somesort..afterall we know that the real Henry Gale was travelling in a 'Widmore' Balloon..

maybe he was coming for Marvin or to help out Dharma?

Though from the sound of his letter it did seem as if he was just on a random trip around the world

I assume you're after 'prosthetic' here. Rather than prophetic. I would rather love it if his prosthetic arm was prophetic though.

Do you suppose Henry Gale's "death note" was a decoy and he was actually going to the islalnd to work for the Other-Others.

Only problem was that Ben didn't check his wallet and so the decoy didn't work......

This would explain why Ben thought he was "the enemy" and not just a traveller [as his fake note would have implied].

Are we sure it was a Widmore Balloon? If so, is it possible that Gale was Penny's new husband and Mr Widmore got rid of him as he did with Desmond. OK, unlikely, as it would have been a huge coincidence that Gale went the same route as Desmond. But in the first place, isn't odd that Desmond chose to sail around the world in a race organised by Mr Widmore....??

Nice spot! I did notice about the CANDLE/WICK thing but i didnt think of the flame hatch...
