Going back to Abbs reply which was probably in jest, I note that both comments were said to men who could have a drink problem. Its always been speculated that Jack may have a drink problem but so far that has not materialised. Des, well he likes a drink...we've already seen that.
You mean as a Spirit' 'pun'?

This would have to be based upon Inman and Henry knowing about the aforementioned Losties potential drink problems.

Lol yes, next month I turn the grand old age of 22 And I'm not sure I would call my answers 'wise': more like 'rambles that come off the top of my head'! But thanks anyway: you yourself are a very good debater and have made some very interesting points and observations. 1984 must have been a quality year indeed

It's interesting to think how the camp would have reacted to Henry strolling onto the beach.  He would have been greeted like a special guest as opposed to John Rambo being caught by the 'enemy'    I think Henry would have gone a long time without actually being questioned....... the fact he was being given seconds to give Sayid and AL answers in the torture room, possibly meant his answers were rushed and less believable somewhat imo.  Had he have walked into their camp, the questions would have been less rushed and more believable. The Losties questioning would not have been as intense and they would have likely have been fooled by Henry.  Although the opposite may have happened and Sayid would have fired a million questions per minute at Henry, prior to an evening of torturing fun that Rambo's jungle "friends" would have beeen proud of :P
Yes, I agree that if Henry had been encountered on the beach he probably wouldn't have faced a barrage of questions loaded with fear and suspicion, and instead might have faced more generalized questions under a far less pressurized environment. Henry would have had more time and breathing space to weave his deception, and it might not have come under such intense scrutiny.

If Henry had been found on the beach, I still think that he would have been treated with suspicion at the least, but perhaps not as much fear, and various losties would not be so inclined to take out their anger on him because he would have appeared as more of a regular person like them, instead of possibly being a murderous, lying, immoral, sub-human Other.

Regardless of whether Henry got caught by accident or not (which is a whole other debate), I'm pretty certain he hadn't anticipated getting tortured by Sayid, which means that he did a pretty good job in responding to Sayid's quick fire qestions before he got the stuffing kicked out of him. Clearly he must have rehearsed his cover story, but in the same position I don't know if I would have been able to stand up to such an onslaught! But because Henry did survive intense questioning, torture and two very near executions and managed to keep his real identity secret could strongly suggest that he has had military (or similar) training...

Thanks for the compliments

Danielle "knew" he was an Other, and had she just explained why she thought this, the whole 'Henry in Capture Week' would have been over much quicker and more easily from the Losties p.o.v

Though, it could have been worse for Henry had the Losties knew he was an Other from the get-go.
