Children At Faith Healers

I just rewatched the episode with my mum and I noticed something. Bernard is talking to a little girl outside. On Isaac's wall there are a load of photo's and cards. I'm pretty sure it seemed like the photo's were all of children or they were hand made cards which looked like they were done by children. Now if this is the case, could that mean that Isaac can only heal children and that's why he couldn't heal Rose. Also could it be possible that Walt or the other children that got stolen on the Island could have been to Isaac's?

Good spot with the children - but I don't think Isaac just heals children. Otherwise he'd not have agreed to see Rose. Plus I got the overall feeling that Isaac didn't have much say in who/what kind of diseases he could heal. Almost like that 'area' worked through him...

...I wonder if this is in anyway similar to Locke and his new found area - is Locke able to channel himself into the island?

When I saw Bernie with the little girl, my first thought was that he and Rose wouldn't be able to have children, and that Rose was thinking wistfully that B would have been a good father. Not that that means anything in particular, but maybe it links to the father/child theme on the island, and maybe there's more back story to those two which goes into it a bit more.

The thing about the faith healer healing children - I don't think thats all he does cos, like E PLURIBUS UNUM says, he wouldn't have agreed to see Rose in the first place...... but it is interesting that there seem to be several themes referenced in this little scene - fathers, children, healing, limbs (or fake limbs - all the crutches etc) powerful forces etc......

That is if the faith healer is legitimate at all. I know Mr Malkin was questioned regarding his authenticity and that he could well have been a hoax there to con Claire. It is possible the faith healer could have been a fraud.

In effect I think you have to have faith in both methods. In clairvoyancy as well as faith healing and both are open to misuse.

When I watched that flashback the second time, I noticed something that could tie into that.. At one point there was a wheelchair in view that looks very much like the one Locke was in!

May not be, but someone check it out if possible!

Thats interesting Che, I mean in all this I've really assumed that Locke got straight on a plane back to LA as soon as he realised he couldn't go on the walkabout. However, that may well not have been the case and we really don't know what Locke got up to between his row with the walkabout organisers and his return to the airport.

It is quite possible that Locke at some point may have seen the same faith healer. He mainly seems to have cured people who couldn't walk, and the speech he gave Rose is very much like what I could imagine he gave Locke. And from that point Locke was looking for his destiny.

This faith healer is pretty convincing. Rose was all cynical before he started, but she immediately showed interest in what he was doing.

But its got to have been long before "Walkabout" because Locke was already pretty sure he had a denstiny by then. Whereas in all previous flashbacks, he does not seem to have that.

I really like the idea that Locke thought he would be healed on the Walkabout because of the 'special magnetic spots' talk for the faith-healer. It's a decent explanation for why he would think he's capable of going on the Walkabout.
