Favourite Flashback Relationship?

I've discluded Boone/Shannon and Rose/Bernard because they were all on the island so it seems unfair.

My favourite is either Locke & Helen [real] or Sayid & Nadia - I'm not sure yet.

It has to be Jack/Sarah. I loved their relationship!

Although they were only together for one scene it showed how much they love each other, and how much they go together, and Penny searching for him also shows her devotion.

On topic: The power two are the best in my opinion (and yet more evidence that Locke and Jack are basically different sides of the same coin)

It's funny, Sarah provided Jack with faith and Helen provided Locke with a (scientific) method, to get over their - extremely similar - letting go, issues..

But...
Locke and Helen just about edge it for me.

hmm I have a couple -

Locke & Helen - I think the fact that both TOQ and Katey Sagal are both such good actors that it made their relationship all the more believable and..honest? For me it seemed like it was the first time Locke had properly been in love and I loved all the angst with Anthony as well. I was so disappointed when Helen refused to marry Locke though, really sad

Sayid & Nadia - he obviously cares for her a lot, I'd love to find out more from when they were younger. I mean they've not actually been "romantically involved" so to speak - he helped her, he saved her life but we didn't see any romance. Just a lot of caring and consideration for each other. I'd love to see those 2 reunited when the whole Lost thing is over, that is if Sayid ever gets off the island of course.

And for completely different reasons - I actually love the whole Mike/Susan relationship. It's one of the only things that made me care about what happened to Michael because Susan was such a cow! Felt so much sympathy for him when she took Walt away and I think their relationship helps understand why Michael acted the way he did.

I've deicded to vote for Locke and (real) Helen - it was one of the more entertaining relationships in my opinion - it showed a lovely progression of John from him screaming out dollar amounts to finally letting go of Anthony to throwing it all away. It showed us a large aspect of why he is who he is.

(and yeah Haelle, it's only people in romantic relationships on the list lol.)

This was quite a tricky one to chose I found. I think there's been several good flashback relations.
I was tempted to go with Sun and Jin because of their so many ups and downs since their path to the island. It's definately been dramatic. Also, Desmond and Penny's flashbacks were very good. As Losty said, you could really see Desmonds love for Penny and his determination to go on the boat race for her really shown this.
However, I decided to pick Locke and Helen - real Helen of course :P I love all of Locke's flashbacks to start with, and the ones with Helen involved shown how much he wanted to be a part of Anthony Coopers life, how hard letting go was for him, and it just made me happy for him seeing that he had a strong relationship, for some time at least
