Sayid and Danielle

I do say that if I had to pick a couple to get together on the island then it would be Sayid and Danielle. The spark was there all the way back in solitary, albeit probably onesided since Sayid was tied down while she was stroking his face but his willingness to accept her into the group in Exodus and his tenderness when he retrieved Aaron from her (in contrast to Charlie's repulsive tormenting of a woman who was clearly distressed and vulnerable at the time) speaks wonders, in my opinion, not only for his character but for the possibility of a relationship between them.

She seems to have been trying to integrate herself bit by bit into the castaway's society with episodes like Maternity Leave and she did bring him Ben.

He seems to bring out the nurturing and, well, sane aspects in her and she seems to do the same to him, returning him to Good Sayid, like Shannon did.

I just can't help thinking that we haven't heard the last of this - or at least I hope not

I do love the realtionship between these 2 for the exact same reasons as you pointed out there AP but I wouldn't want it to develop into a romantic relationship. I think their dynamics work very well together as a very strong friendship, they both seem to be on the same wavelength - both have lost people they love, troubled pasts etc. I love their interaction and I definitely want to see more but I think maybe Danielle has been isolated for too long. She's probably looking for somebody to love and to love her and maybe she does want that person to be Sayid. I have a feeling Sayid will just want t go down the whole "just friends" route though. Shannon's death wasn't too long ago and I'd say he's still trying to deal with that inside.

It has similar qualities to the Jules/Jack - capturer/prisoner thing. But she's an awesome character, but in my opinion it IS very one sided. I think part of Sayids offer for her to join the group was because he wanted to keep her where he could see her...perhaps. I'd agree with Laura though, I can't see it developing any further. At the moment, Dani still has 'things to do' before she either:
A. Becomes an out-right enemy
B. Intergrates into the losties group

There are 2 things I'm hopeful for:
1. She's not an other
2. Her multi-languages are someone linked to Sayid (who, if you remember, was a communications officer)

I think there's another link between Sayid and Dani, perhaps even Jack/Sawyer-esc (J's father)

I was thinking more Locke and Danielle. Remember their special bond in Exodus 1? I saw him checking her out when she took her top off. Yeah Locke, I bet you was looking at her cuts They both look around the same age, their both very good at exploring. It's a match made in heaven if you ask me :P

On a serious note now, I do like Sayid and Danielles bond. For example, when she pops up every now and then it's always Sayid she's looking for or Sayid who ends up being the one she talks too. He also invited her into the group in Exodus (as you said) and I do think he does genuinely like her and would like for her to become one of the gang.

I think that, in the case of Danielle, she will either become one of the gang or become an outright enemy. I doubt that there is much more material for her to just be wandering around in the jungle, popping up every so often.

Mmm. She doesn't seem like one to just float around in the middle that's for sure! It's definately up to her though. She can be very helpful - one example, saving Claire from the others in ML - and she can be very. . unhelpful - one example, tricking the losties into thinking the others were coming, simply so she could take away Aaron. Really, I think it's up to her whether she becomes liked or hated. It's her choice!

Have to disagree - Shannons death was not "a long time ago". You have to remember its stilll only been 65 days since the crash. Shannon died around day 48-49

so to Sayid she only died a matter of weeks ago and if he really loved her he would still be thinking about her in the back of his mind.
