Kate and Sawyer

No, I am not bitter or jealous (ok, maybe i am) but that's not my reason for starting this thread, I'm just really curious.

So Kate and Sawyer have always had a "thing" right? Some sort of flirty type realtionships that has had its ups and downs since day one, and probably started whne Sawyer said, "I'm a complex guy, sweetheart". But there was always one thing that got in the way.

Jack.

We were all well aware of the love triangle, and at the end of season 2, and especially due to the season two kiss, I was sure Kate was leaning towards Jack, but I guess I was wrong.

However, could it be possible that without Jack around, with only Sawyer to rely on in those cages, that Kate has thrown all her Jack love at Sawyer too? That in the heat of the situation she has fallen for Sawyer coz there was no-one else?

Or does she really love him? Like she says she does, does she truly love Sawyer and will have forgotten about Jack? I'm not sure I could ever see Kate forgetting about her feelings for Jack.

And let's look at Sawyer's infamous line from TLC, "Tiger don't change her stripes, you run, I con." Will Kate run? Will she get out of the relationship like she has done in the past? Or will Sawyer back out of it instead?

As much as I want to be happy for him I just want to make sure there's not going to be any hearbreak, that they will stay together and be happy. But this is Lost, what's the likelyhood of that?

So, what d'ya think? Will the love between Kate and Sawyer last forever, or will someone end up with a broken heart?

I always thought of it as the other way round. It seemed obvious Jack and Kate would get in a relationship, and Sawyer was the one in the way. kate never seemed to want a relationship with him, but she understood him and obviously found him attractive. I dont want to burst your bubble B but i cant see this ending anytime soon (unless sawyer dies lol)

I guess coz I was more a Sawyer fan, than a Jack fan (in fact, for the first half of season one I hated Jack) I always saw it as having Jack in the way of Kate and Sawyer's relationship, but then season two really seemed to push the Jack/Kate vibe.

Lol, you're not bursting my bubble, I'm just curious to see what people think, and to as whether their relationship will last. Heck, maybe Jack and Sawyer are working together and it's some big elaborate con to trick the others...

also just realised TLC could mean “The Long Con” and “Tender Loving Care” could that be intentional ?

Ya see, I kinda lean towards that idea too. As much as I want Sawyer to be happy, as much as I want him to be in love and find his inner James again, I don't know if I can see him and Kate staying together. Especially once Jack comes back into the picture, if indeed he does.

And lol, yeah...I used to say he needed some TLC in TLC, but I use it there to refer to The Long Con. But it could be indeed, who knows.

I am a massive fan of anything that involves the faintest hint of romance, and have been rooting for Skate since... well, pretty much the start of Lost. It's quite clear that Kate and Jack have some kind of deep relationship thing. The typical good-guy doctor, he can protect her, he can make her feel safe and special. But Kate and Sawyer have heat. There's such a strong physical attraction between them, which makes their relationship so compelling. The problem is, that they're both fiery and insecure characters, so however much passion they have, (and however much it pains me to say) I don't see it lasting for ever. At least, not without a lot of crashing along the way.

I do worry about Kate running. And about Sawyer backing out. They both talk a lot of talk, that they're tough and independant. But they both want each other, and need each other maybe more than they even realise. I warmed to Sawyer a lot faster than I warmed to Kate, which confused me somewhat; I wanted him to be happy with her, but I was scared by how broken he might be if she ran. However, over time I've begun to like Kate; now I think she needs love as desperately as he does. It seems (scarily) inevitable that something will go wrong; if it does, my heart will be aching for both of them.

Basically, I think they both desperately want to be together. But this is Lost, it's never simple; and the characters of Sawyer and Kate are far too damaged to ever be straight-forwards. I've got my fingers crossed that Skate will end up happily ever after, but... well, we'll have to wait and see.

Lol, I love romance too, one of favourite things to write about, or talk about but when it comes to Skate, I'm not sure how much I love it, but I do love that Sawyer is happy. I agree, Kate and Jack do have something between them and I think that it will last forever, they will never escape that. But as you say, Sawyer and Kate seem to have a deeper connection, but my worry also lies in their volatile nature, and the fact that it may not last forever due to this, as arguements can cause too much pain.

As do I, coz as much as they deny it, they're both very set in their ways. I never warmed to Kate, I've always found it really hard to like her, but Sawyer, I liked him from the start, even though he was an utter jerk I figured there had to be a reason for it, he's a sweetie and we all know it. But I agree, if Kate was to run it would break Sawyer, he's finally given out his love again, after keeping it hiden for so long, and if she betrayed him or left him, it would destroy him.

I just want Sawyer to be happy, he deserves some happiness in his life, but whether he'll get it is yet to be seen.

am i like the only one who thinks it will last? maybe it's just wishfull thinking but i think kate really does genuinly love sawyer, rather than him just being sort of a replacement for jack. and i think sawyer really lvoes kate, and that's the only thing that matters right? i mean in normal relationships in the outside world, relationships are all about money and stuff but on the island that won't be a problem and i hope that it does last

Oh no, I WANT it to last, for Sawyer's sake, but as his over-protective friend I just want to make sure. And I do think they love each other, I really do and I want them to be happy, especially Sawyer....but there's a small part of me, the protective part of me, that worries....

Ah, so you're a Kack/Jate fan? You see, I can still see this happening, especially if Kate ever got to see any of the talks/moments between Jack and Juliet, I feel she might be jealous.

I guess you could be right. Jack and Kate had a lot going on for them, and they had the big kiss in season two, and that look they shared at the end of season two, tis interesting.

I want it to last, but at the same time I want Kate and Jack to be together - not at the same time obviously, it's nice for Sawyer to have someone to talk to, and be himself to, not hiding behind his comments and tough shell. But Jack loved someone and was cheated on, he wants to be with Kate, and I feel sorry for him, he saved Sarah's life and she couldn't even have the decency to leave him before sleeping with someone else..

Either way she goes, I'll be happy :P
