But I agree, Jack deserves happiness too, but if it means Sawyer's getting broken in the process....well, Kate had better run .

I see what you mean about one of them backing out. Kate obvaisly has a hard time staying in relationships, especially when they get serious. We know that she has had two failed marriages.. I really do hope it lasts, it's confusing because I so much want Jack to be with Kate, but I want Sawyer to be with her too.

Exactly, Kate spooks easily and so runs from realtionships, and Sawyer has a great fear of getting hurt again. I hope it lasts for Sawyer's sake at least. Hmmm, a part of me things Kate and JAck might work better, but I don't know, I'm giving her and Sawyer a chance.

On the issue of Kate saying that she loved him, i think it was the only way to stop Pickett from turning pretty boy into a mess..and to support my doubts that she 'loves' him, when they were in the cages she never actually told him that she loved him, Sawyer just jumped to conclusions. And I think this indicates that Kate will not stop running and eventually she will tear Sawyers heart from the hollow cavity that it currently occupies.

I think that she stopped running because she doesnt want to be alone anymore..and i suppose it's still to her credit that she didnt leave Ford, though i still think it wasnt an entirely selfish act - wasnt it Benry who said: "A man gets sick if he's alone" (owtte)..and so the same can apply to a woman - i think Kate only subscribes to 'Live together, die alone' because she's scared of being alone..not because she truely believes in that philosophy. So it's debatable (imo) her desire to remain with Ford.

But i digress

The problem with Kate is that she doesnt "do Taco nights" (she should try them, they rock! )..and thats her in a nutshell..she is incapable of change because change induces fear and insecurity..she can only do what she knows, despite the island giving her another chance.

So in answer to the question, i dont think it will last..i still suspect that Kate would go for Jack if the situation was different and that in the end she will destroy them both emotionally. The very fact that she made romance ( :P ) with Sawyer, right under Jacks nose tells me that the woman is just plain old confused and always will be. She needs to fix up and leave both of them alone if she even cares the slightest for them

I hope kate goes with Jack after a while, although i sometimes think sawyer and kate are better off, but shes probably better with Jack. but for now i think shes good with sawyer

See, I'm kinda with you on that point. I think on some level Kate does have strong feelings for Sawyer, but at the same time, when she said it then, she said it just to stop Pickett beating the poor guy half to death. And my thoughts exactly, she didn't actually say it, she just let him presume, perhaps so she feels less guilt if she does actually run. And lol, lovely image there Rocs but I do think that Sawyer loves Kate, and so if she leaves it will destroy him. It would. And I'm scared to think how he'd react if that happened.

I see where you're coming from. Kate has run from every relationship she's been in, heck, she was toally in love with the guy in "I do" but yet she still ran. But as you say, perhaps it is her desire not to be alone that made her turn to Sawyer. But if it had been Jack in that cage, and not Sawyer, I do think they would've ended up in the relationship her and Sawyer are in now.

(They do rock, I love them ) Exactly, she could have stayed happily married to that guy but instead she ran, because finally life was good, and that scared her. I too think she'll always be like this....but here's hoping.

I look forward to the day Jack and Sawyer realise that she is just going to end up hurting them both, and so they both walk away. If it wasn't for Kate I do think they'd be better friends than they actually are. But I agree with you.

And as much as I want it to end, I still don't coz I don't like the idea of what it will do to Sawyer, he doesn't have much of a heart as it is, and if she broke it, he'd shut himself off. And that scares me.

I don't understand how she can be confused - you'd think with Sawyer on the island, the choice would be obvious

I really really hope it works out between them. But it does seem that the current Skate bliss is too good to be true... I'm almost waiting for something to go wrong, and it's a horrible feeling. But I don't want to judge, and think "oh, Kate is bound to run". She seems to have taken her "clean slate" on the island. If she does leave and break his heart, I expect I'll feel differently about her; but for the moment, I'm giving her a chance. As for Sawyer... well, that complicated matters even more. I'll keep hoping that I and everyone else is wrong, and that Sawyer and Kate will stand by each other and bring out the best in each other. That the hot passion of Skate will stay burning brightly

Lol, exactly, I know who I would pick. I know which hot, tall and rugged stranger I would have fought tooth and nail to sit next to on the plane, to camp next to on the beach, and to um....get caught in a next with, I would've picked .

Me too, as I really want Sawyer to be happy, he deserves something good in his life. But like you, I am also kinda waiting and expecting that something will go wrong. I don't want to judge either, but Kate has never been my favourite person so I can't help but look towards her as the one who destroys the realtionship. But I'm not saying that Sawyer is all sweetness and light, he could back ot of it and protect his heart, who knows. But I hope he's....alright...they're happy.

Will it last? Well I hope so. I've loved Kate and Sawyer's relationship from the word go. They had a love/hate thing going on in Season 1 which I loved because their scenes were always so intense. Always preferred Kate being with sawyer as opposed to Jack because 1. I don't like Jack and 2. they just don't have that raw energy, that intensity that S/K do.

Both Kate and Sawyer aren't exactly the prime examples of the perfect partners - Kate likes to run, Sawyer likes to...lie? Heck they both lie. But I think Sawyer finds himself able to share with Kate, he knows they're on the same wavelength and he knows that Kate isn't perfect too. I genuinely believe that he loves her. I think he misses what he had with Cassidy - he knows he had it good but he screwed up and he wished it could be different. I think he wants to feel that for Kate - that dependency on someone other than himself. And Kate - whether she truely loves Sawyer or not I don't know but I'd like to think so. She can't run anywhere this time - there's no running from this relationship, it's not like she can just leave the island and get away from Sawyer if it goes belly up. I think she does have strong feelings for Jack but I'd say in more of a platonic love kind of way with him. I agree completely about what you were saying about the intensity between them. Kate and Jack had possibly, in some sense of the word, more of a "relationship". I think she could trust he more than Sawyer, and he generally seemed to be a more obvious "boyfriend" type. But she never had the same physical heat with him as she did with Sawyer. I mean, can you imagine if it had been Sawyer in the net with her instead of Jack?

I love your second point too.. it seems quite odd that two people, who are both quite "messed up" can possibly be good for each other. Yet somehow, it seems to work. I love watching them together, I love how far he will go to protect her... I love everything about Skate. I'm glad you feel the same way, as most people on the forum seem to be rather anti-Skate!
