I wasnt a fan..but somehow i was just drawn into their whole affair!

I was so angry with Shannon for what she did to Boone and so the fact that i still rate their island love as one of the best so far, speaks volumes in view.

I loved the fact that their relationship was so organic..it wasnt motivated by anything else except a mutual bond, a mutual brokeness (is that a word?) and a the fact that they both healed one another..temporarily.

I dont think that there love was rock solid..but on the island, it was brand new and stuck like glue

awwwwwwww! they were cute together, and it just seemed like such an unlikely relationship, i would have thought she'd have gone for someone more like sawyer! and i thought sayid was just too in love with Nadia, but yeah, it does show that they obviously were in love and then she had to go and die

Aww, Shannon and Sayid were a lovely couple, they really were.

They had some rough times, and managed to get together and work through it all. It was a tragic but beautiful relationship.

The end was so sad, finally their love was admitted and then she died. Which in turn caused Sayid to "die".

(But there was something so interestingly sickening about Shannon/Boone that made me wanna see more of it)

oooo i was a fan! I loved how the producers managed to pair together such an unlikely couple!

It was a shame that Shannon died because I would've loved to have seen how it could've continued.

The Nadia thing still makes me wonder, just how much in love with Shannon he was? I like to think that you can only love once (true love that is)..and so who was Sayids 'true love'..Nads or Shan?

I suppose it's possible to love again..and Shannon no doubt healed him and him her..and they brought a certain kind of light to each others lives..perhaps the island give people another chance in everything, including love.

maybe he had just realised that he wasn't getting off the island any time soon and shannon was how he sort of came to terms with it? did he ever get that picture of nadia back? i haven't seen S1 for ages

I must say her death ranked up there with some of my saddest LOST moments so far..it really was a Collision in those few episodes..so much raw passion, emotion, pain and hurt. It wasnt only the fact that she died, but the whole dynamic of the tailies and fusers meeting, Sayid finally believing her, her getting shot, Sayids anguish, Cindy getting abducted, Ana trying to protect her people and accidently killing Shannon, Michael and Jin trying to do whats best, Eko rescuing Ana from Sayid, Eko walking off and saving Sawyer, Bernie turning ihis back on Ana, The whole reunion sequence, Ana teeling Sayid her story and he telling her his, Ana telling him that she deserves to die, Him sparing her life, Jack and Ana re-meeting, Sayid carrying Shannons limp body...
it was just so DEEEEP! So much happened, thats why however many seasons we have Shannon ans Sayids relationship will be immortalised!

As for the Boone/Shannon thing..it was compulsive viewing wasnt it. Incest has never been so interesting

I agree, it was just too tragic for words, and I just wanted to turn back time, save Shannon, save Sayid, do anything to stop the pain felt all round.

And you're right the whole thing, and the Sawyer being saved by Eko was particualry emotional for me, I was in tears over that as it was. Everything, and espeically when Sayid and Ana both were talking about how they were dead inside, it was just so sad. It was deep, and I loved them both, just a shame it ended like it did.

It was indeed, and lol, incest indeed, made for "can't tear my eyes from the screen" viewing, lol. Even if it did disturb me a little.

Her death was definately the saddest moment for sure, i cried my poor little heart out, Ana's wasnt as sad, i could see it coming, i still cried though! But shannons omg i died inside.

Incest has never been so cowardly, you mean. They weren't related; it wasn't incest. Could've been a strong storyline had they been bold enough to truly make them brother and sister.

Yeah, the word 'tragic' does spring to mind..it really was a hard hitting episode (im suprised that this one doesnt rate up there in many peoples eyes..well i was at the time as i recall alot of people not liking it..or perhaps it was just LuLu they didnt like lol)

And yeah, when they were talking about feeling dead inside, it was so emotional..i sense that both actors had to really go places to convey such emotion.

Funnily enough..and this is perhaps only me, but did get the sense that Sayid fancied..or perhaps even respected Ana. It's just sometimes i would catch him staring at her..maybe he was just lost in his world and didnt know if and how he could forgive her for shooting Shannon, but i do think there was some other connection there

Hmm, well you may be right..i dont think it was cowardly of the producers because I think that making them step brother and sister added an extra dimension to the whole storyline..one which enabled shall we say, people who dont digg that type of thing, to become drawn into the story without feeling discusted at what they were seeing. So I do think that it was a conscious decision from the creators to make them 'step' brother and sister.

Lost is always pushing the boundaries and does (i think) attempt to show the world for what it is (at times) and so I dont think they would've had any issues with making Shannon and Boone fully related. Also, I find that by no going going down the full-incest route, it allowed the viewers to make their own minds up more..it allowed them to ask themselves whether love should be defined by who you are and who the other person is, whether those in love should hold back over fear of condemnation and distain..and I think that had they already presented the pair as full bro and sis, then they would be given us an answer, rather than allowing us to pose the question.

I would say the producers were smart..very smart..and not cowardly in this instance

A very hard hitting episode, we're talking about Collision right? Coz that was one of my faves from season two, I rate it very highly. (Hmmm, I was mad at her, AL, but after seeing her in 48days and her flashbacks in this, she starting growing on me, I think it was the death of Shannon that got me).

I agree, they must've had to reach so deep, and search their inner demons for the ability to act such a scene.

Oh no, I saw it too, I reallly did! I think it was when they were sat together, waiting to go search for Henry Gale's balloon, or Charlie to return, I don't quite recall coz Charlie was there, lol, but the look he gave Ana, the way Sayid was watching her, I really did think he was starting to develop feelings for her, but his love for Shannon stopped him acting on them.
