But...I am truely fascinated by the relationship between Ben and Jules. I agree SP - 'compelling' is the word! They are just so well casted and both of them (jules and ben) have this air of 'the unknown' about them. Juliet seems so level headed and in control of herself, yet whenever she looks at Ben, the is notable tension in her eyes (lol).. ..and then theres the time where she was crying right at the top of the season (important methinks!)..this shows a rare sign of vunerability on her part, of the kind we havent since seen, except perhaps with the death of Colleen maybe? In retrospect I get the feeling that she was crying in 3x01 cos of Ben's illness..now this is also interesting as it shows that she DOES care about him and perhaps more than she lets on?..well thats one of the things that made me come to the conclusion that Ben was ill or something (pre-finding out). Of course she might have been weeping about something else, but eitherway, theyve shown her crying right at the START..this must be an insigt into something..

I'm not one for the whole ship stuff, but I thought I'd join in with the new forum for some fun.

I voted Ana Lucia and Sawyer.

Yes, I know.....shocking huh?

But I think those two would've had an amazing friendship, been so close because they were the opposite sex version of each other. And this could've led to romance.

I would've loved to have seen how things developed between them.

Yeah, i agree..at the start i thought that it would be heading that way, cos they seemed similar on certain levels.. And even thought they did actually get it on (for want of a better phrase) it was interesting how they didnt really connect (imo)..there was just this barrier or gulf between them. Perhaps it was due to AL's pre-island occupation or perhaps it was because she just didnt like the bloke (my perosal favourite belief ) but i wonder whether this was planned (from the outset) or whether it was just the direction that producers decided to take it. of course, even so it still set the wheels in motion for Fords 'your my best friend doc' plea (as i think you mention in another thread Beach? ) and his whole fumble in a cage with Kate..

It's interesting, i think, how even those relationships which are doomed to failure still impact greatly upon those left behind (the living).. i suppose even in death the message is the same: everythings connected..

Indeed, and one that surprises even myself, lol.

Indeed they seemed to have a semi-flirty love/hate thing going on for quite a while, but that seemed to drift apart when she met Jack. Yeah, that's true, I think it was possibly to do with her job, and the fact he was a con, they couldn't fully connect, but I also think it's because they both wanted different things out of it and so just did it for the sake of it. ( Meanie :P ). Yup, that'd be me I suspect coz I'm always talking about it, lol. And ugh, but yes, that's also true.

Yeah, because that death affected everyone, especially Sawyer, the guilt he felt was immense. But you're right in what you say.

a few of these relationships i didnt realise excisted! Scott/steve and Ben/Goodwin for example :P

Anyway i voted sayid and danielle, they have a very interesting relationship, right since she tortured him

True, when she and Jack met back up there was this 'thing' between them..and she seemed to be 'interested' in his relationship with Kate - "You hitting that?"

Yeah, the fact that LuLu was a Cop and Sawyer a Con did seem to put this gap between them..i guess the two dont mix..though interesting because back in the day (pre Ana) there were some theories which suggested that Kate was the Cop..and Sawyer and Kate have always connected one way or the other. But of course the fact that Kate isnt the Cop makes my point pointless..but still :P

Yes, her death did effect Sawyer..i'll be honest, i am disappointed that he didnt show more remorse for her death, but i accept that he was eventually rather shaken..though i suspect it was more guilt (as you say) than any real love for Ana. I wonder how he;d react if Kate was to ever hit the bucket

I voted Ben/Juliet as for basically the same reasons as sp i like the mystery of their relationship and how they act around each other as it makes you wonder whats gone on between them.

Haha, i thought id throw a few speculative ones in there..but Scott and Steve..you didnt hear about that?

As for Ben and Goodwin..it's more in the bretherin sense (think thats the word)..when Ana was trying to help him through his 'situation' in the hatch, Ben chastised her for killing Goodwin, saying that he was a good person and implying that he wouldnt have killed her

Ana "He was going to kill me!"

Ben "Was he Ana?"

anyway, my point is that i got the sense of a real friedship (and possibly more?) between Ben and Goodwin..shame he had to die really

But yeah, Roussuea and Sayid is an interesting one..theres something there, thats for sure (mostly on Dani's part ..not sure Sayid 'really' likes her tbh..then again, Sayid is suspicious of just about anyone who leaves a shadow, lol!)

hes well so interesting; we dont know his back story. he's WCIKED

Has he really been on the island all his life? what drives him? why does it drive him? what is his relationship with julliet?

Theres so many intriguing questions with those two! I mean Ben on his own is a quandary, but throw Jules into the mix and theres an ocean of wonderment!
