Number Five

I'll probably post further thoughts on this later but I'm voting for "good/don't." Despite how she changed positivley towards her death she wasn't a very attractive character throughout her flashbacks, season one or the majority of season two.

Concerning her flashbacks I'm going to get jumped on by people who tell me that she has every right to be the way that she is because Sabrina stole Adam's money but it's the way she treated Boone that irked me. He offered to let her live her dream, let her go to New York and pay for her to have the internship so that she could set herself up but she decides to bypass this and become a conwoman; faking domestic abuse (and you really have to worry about the sort of person who'd use something so serious for their own financial gain) to get Sabrina's money back, deliberatly making sure Boone was hurt as much as possible in the mean time. And then, once sleeping with him, she told him that nothing had changed and basically broke his heart in a way (okay she was drunk so this bit is excusable but the rest isn't.)

In Series 1 i thought Shannon was a good character, i didnt really like her but i didnt dislike her i thought it was interesting how she manipulated people like charlie i (with the fish, so boone would think she could 'fend for herself' lol, it was a bit tight on charlie ) When boone died shannon was great lol

I gradually started to like shannon, by S2 i really liked her, she wasnt in my top 5 or anything but i liked her. and when she died i liked her even more because that episode was soooo sad lol. Its a shame she died and it would be good to see her in a future flashback

Well obvioulsy i LOVE Shannon!

I thought her character was great! I loved her mostly because of how bitchy she was and she was just funny!

I do think it was bad what she done to Boone but i think she only done that because he didnt take her side when Sabrina robbed her and kicked her out of the house! So i think thats the only reason she wanted to hurt Boone! I do think she went a little too far with sleeping with him though, that kind of makes her seem a little psychotic lol!

I also think she was majorly underused in both seasons and she had soo much more to give! We still dont know about her marriage and the au pair job! There was just a tiny bit of her going to the french mans house and saying hello which got deleted! They only killed her off just so there was a bit of friction between the camps, when they could of used someone whos story was OVER like Charlie!

I just hope we see more of her just in flashbacks so we can get her full story!

Also her character was good because she came across as the typical blonde but her character was soooo much more than that and it was nice to see why she became the early season 1 Shannon! I also think Maggies acting was brilliant, to be able to get that many people to hate you and then to make most of them change there mind and start to like you must of been quite hard lol!

i voted for a "good character and i like her" just because at the begining of series 1 you get the image at she's just a "typical blonde" type person but throughout the sries you find she's got more to her and then in series 2 she annoyed me a bit, but i was still sad that she got killed off

I voted: "good character and I like her" because although I resented her a little at first because of the way she acted and how she treated Boone, I never really disliked her, and the way Sabrina treated her was horrible, and I didn't blame her for being the way she was. She really did try her best..

Personally I find it quite hard to like bitchy characters because it's probably the character trait I'm least able to understand. Which is a big reason why I didn't like her at all in season one - she was probably one of my least favourites (I've met a few too many Shannonesque people in my time lol.)

Boone didn't not take her side though. When she informed him of what had happened he had already agreed to work for Sabrina and, with what minimal power he had, the most he could have done was offer her the money to go to New York. Sabrina would have detested this and so, by offering, technically Boone did side with her because he put his own money and status at risk by offering in the first place.

I agree that she didn't do much - although I was a fan of the kindess that she brought out in poor Sayid. Although at the time Charlie's story wasn't entirely over. He still had potential that he fulfilled.

I just hope we see more of her just in flashbacks so we can get her full story!

Yeah, it would be nice. I'm surprised she hasn't appeared to Sayid in some vision or sort yet.

But surely 'trying her best' would have been to do everything she could have done to be a good person; take the money and go to New York and, to put it crudely, mick all over Sabrina by becomming successful.

As opposed to what she did do - it seems that she refused the money to save her pride from being bruised but surely conning her own step-brother (who she knew was in love with her) is a disgusting sort of pride to hold on to.

I thought that she had simply run her course. The only real substance she had on the island after Boone died was with Sayid, her relationship with Locke as a result of Boone died completely, as did she really. Season 1 she was the typical blonde with something to hide; and there's only so long that can go on for. She started liking Sayid like 1x13, and that was the only story she had for the rest of her time on the island. When Boone was there she wasn't that bad as she could interract with the person she had the most history with. As far as that goes yeah she was way out of order but Sabrina had drove her to it, Boone was just wrong place wrong time and Shannon realised she could use him how she wanted to i.e sleeping with him and conning him. But after he died she served no purpose. And so the writers created a purpose, kil her to introduce Ana in the worst light. She wasn't a bad character exactly but to me she was a mere bit part. But Brad can I just ask marriage?!?! When did that come up?

Oh yeah and you could tell in the second episode that she wasnt really that horrible, when she saw that man that was dead and she was upset because she thought she was mean to him! That showed that she still had some nice feelings and did regret what she done or said to him!

To be honest I think we knew most that there was to know about her - she seemed quite a straight forward character (and probably one of the most sterotypical out of a cast of somewhat sterotypes.)

I thought she was a good character and I liked her - but I like 'em all! I loved her bitchiness, I thought she was hilarious - very Sawyeresque in that respect, keeping people at arm's length and trying to talk the talk while secretly being vulnerable and hurting.

I didn't mind her flaws (refusing the money, sulking, using/blaming Boone), they made her a more human, rounded character. It was great to watch her character develop, and overcome her fear of intimacy - just a shame they killed her off at such a pivotal moment for her character. They could have done a lot more with her if she'd stayed.
