Jack, Kate and Sawyer are generally the favourite of the American Teeny viewers if you read things (like C4 main really - if it wasn't about spoilers it was almost certainly one of those guys) so I suppose that's where they'll get their money from.

I'm still gunning for Sayid/Danielle myself

Yes, thats a good point - the Kawyer, Jate and Clairlie 'romance' is forced..no, rammed down our throats like an invasive toothbrush The Sayid/Shannon romance was more organic yet also unforseen..and for that it was beutiful and actually enhanced both characters and gave people the opporunity to see a side to Shannon and Sayid that many of us thought didnt exist (particularly with Shannon).

Another relation that I would I think 'could' potentially blossom into something half decent is the Desmond/Claire thing. Now whether the producers choose to go down this route or not is another matter, but for my money it has potential (partly because DDH is a fantastic actor and does the passion thing well)..also it could be the only thing that saves Claire from becoming more dull than pre-used dishwater. Oh and imagine Charlies rage...excellent

Speaking of relationships, despite my dislike for Bernard's turncoating and whining, his and Rose's relationship is very well crafted..as if Jack and Lockes. Yes, Jack and Lockes - the day they played 'house' together in the hatch took their relationship to a whole new level..we just havent had the chance to see it develop since Jack went and got himself caught (silly man! ). Of course theres is a different kind of relationship, but still..it always makes me chuckle

EDIT: Oh and how can i forget Ben/Jules and Jack..now thats what i call a triangle. props to the creative team!

EDIT AGAIN: Oh and Jin and Sun, lol..there are actually quite a few good relationships still in play..i guess the jate/kawyer crud causes me to forget the good ones

Couldn't agree more with your post KoR! I find anything Jack - Locke related totally compelling, I think there's genuine chemistry between them (oi oi) and I really like your idea about Desmond and Claire, never crossed my mind for a second - interesting..

Ben - Juliet - Jack, that's one dark and disturbed triangle isn't it? Jack being Juliet's and Ben's captive, Jack using Ben's life as leverage, and Juliet wanting Ben dead...

Indeed, kudos to the writers on that one!

I like the idea of Claire and Desmond - although Locke and Claire would be even more funnier

I don't think that the producers would be brave enough to do this. They have their "relationship romance" with Chalrie/Claire, their "married couple" with Jin/Sun and their "triangle" with the three stooges so they are not interested in anyone else getting romanically involved like Shannon/Sayid.

Yeah Jack and Locke are like the institution imo they've been around forever, they've lived, fought and heck, they'll probably die together ..in each others arms (if that actually happens, you heard it from me first, right ). As you said, theres so much chemistry between them, they work well together WHEN they decide to wor as a team (ala sneering Ethan, opening the hatch etc), but they alsonark each other so much and i just loved it when they argued in the hatch like 2 old women (no offence to old women)..and the way they used 'Henry Gale' as a one upmanship tool was so fantastic..pity they couldnt see the devious Henry playing them like too chumps

Jack and Jules is such an intriguing one. You can almost taste the passion waiting to explode between them..they want each other but that glass wall and Jules 'bigger picture' wont let that happen...just yet. (imo) ..and of course theres Ben, as you said. Throw him into any mix and you have about 20,00 layers of depth and intrigue! Loving round spectacled Ben..rocking it retro style!

Yeah, theres always the danger of two many cooks spoiling the broth..so im not too sure about the Des/Claire thing..though their little scene together did seem to imply something on the cards (since they rarely 'waste' a scene do these producers)

I would love some Claire and Locke..that would set the cat amongst the dogs wouldnt it!? I mean, it would be interesting to see how they handled it, what with Locke being about 48 years older than her, LOL! But on a serious note, what i liked about their little spark launced back in 1x18, was how he looked after her and spoke to her like a human being and a person, as opposed to speaking 'at' her like a time bomb and a mother, like Jack, Chucks and others did. He seemed to nurture her (as he did with Boone, Walt ans Charlie) and make them feel worthwhile. Infact Lockes done many things for many people on that island and i hope he gets some luck in the old romance area soon. Anyhoo, well off topic, this a Shannon thread..but it's interesting the old 6 degrees:

I was thinking whilst watching the dull dreary football about Shannon's relationship with other losties. THere were some she had a lot of interation with, others not so much but had potential and some who she never actually spoke too!

Some examples:

Sayid - obviously SHannon had plenty of interaction and even another type of ""inter with nudge nudge wink wink. Although there was a taste of things to come in the pilot episode between Sayid and Shannon It wasn't actually into mid way through season 1 when he needed help with the translation that really got their relationship started. Also gave here a "Role" on the show to speak as before that she was only really seen on the beach sun bathing or with Boone

Sawyer - One scene and what a great scene it was "light, sticks". I always felt this was a missed opportunity. The Writers perhaps felt that he was too old for her but as they were similar characters it would have been good to see them together or bitching at each other.

Sun - again only a few scenes but in some ways Sun was a good influence on SHannon when Boone died generally caring towards her. In a deleted scene we saw this again in season 2 when Sun asks SHannon about seeing Walt. I could see a girly type relationship happening between them (Shannon was never one to have a girly relationship with Kate).

Jin - No scenes together until shes died. Jin's face showed shock but thats about it!

Jack/Locke - I will go into this more in another post but Shannon was leaning more to Jack's side then team Locke (Even though Boone was the opposite). Obviously Boones death had a major impact on their relationship - Locke guilty and SHannon looking for revenge. But she was very influenced by Jack and believed everything he said it seemed. Would she have turned on Locke if JAck didn't have a go at Locke at Boones funeral??
