So, we don't know yet what Sayids plan is. He doesn't even know yet himself.

But it involves playing along with Michaels "mission", which means they will go into the jungle to the Others camp. Or they take the boat. And then Sayid probably will follow them with a couple of guys to ambush the ambush or something. Doesn't matter. We already know its only going to half work, because we are approaching the cliff hanger. And thats really why the story line is going the way it is.

But if we were in the middle of a season. Would there be an alternative?

I don't think so myself.

They could lock up Michael and throw away the key, but knowing Michael that is not going to work in the long run, and that still leaves Walt with the Others.

Or they could tell him they are going along "for show" but with Sayid following, but that to Michael means he is not going to get Walt back, ever, and again that is going to end in tears.

So, is there an alternative? What do you think?

Sayid's a dangerous man right now..for once i hope Jack doesnt listen to him because his luck is about to run out imo.

Sure, his luck is going to run out, we are approaching the season finale

But so is Jacks, Kates, Sawyers and Hurleys. Without Sayid, Michael would just lead them into the trap. With Sayid, Michael will lead them into the trap with Sayid following. Best case scenario, Sayid isn't spotted and can't help, and Michael gets Walt back. Worst case scenarios, Sayid is captured too and Michael does not get Walt back.

Wouldn't it be much better if they all knew what the deal was and tried to get Walt by force? Best case scenario, they are all reunited. Worst case scenario, they all die.

Ermm, I take that back, then.

Best case scenario, Sayid is not spotted, gets locke, charlie, eko, and goes Other-hunting!!!! WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

I don't think there is much alternative myself, especially when there is only one day for planning available.

It'll be interesting to see what the future holds for Walt (I get the feeling Mike's a goner).

I get the feeling Walts a goner too.

I think they are doing this to solve the "actor outgrowing the chararacter" problem.

I don't think they're going to give Walt back anyway. He's far too valuable to them, though we're still not sure why!

Therefore I think Sayid tailing them without telling Mike is a good plan, cos when things kick off (which they inevitably will) he'll be there to help them out.

I think Mike is scared that the others will somehow find out if he tells the losties whats really going on and he probably doesnt want to risk putting walt in jeopardy which is understandable.

How this will plan out I dont know, I have a feeling that Danni might crop up you know, she's always lurking about and I think this would be the best oppertunity shes had to try and see Alex.

Wouldnt it be ironic if Sayid gets captured and the others..namely Henry, tortures him, just as Sayid did to him

Henry "When did you come to this island?"

Sayid "2 months ago!"

Henry "LIAR!!"

Sayid "PLease, im telling you the truth!"

Henry "I know you are lying because i just know and that means that i know and that means that im right so now im gonna torture you on suspicion alone"

Sayid "Hmm..sounds like a plan"

On a more serious note, if Jack is getting captured by The Others he would find himself in a similar situation. OK, so he hasn't tortured Henry, but he was around in the hatch when it happened. Whereas Sawyer, Kate and Hurley were not.
