Yes Sayid still hasn't learnt his lesson even after being captured by Dani! Makes me wonder just what it will take for him to hang up his torturing gloves once and for all...

I do think that Sayid is a good character and brings quite a bit to the show, but as for Sayid personally I have just never warmed to him at all and find myself liking him less and less.

There was one time when I was ready to destroy Sayid, I wanted to beat him to a pulp, smack him over the head, ram bamboo up his nails....basically I wanted to kill him. And I'm sure y'all can work out what time that was, lol.

But nowadays, Sayid and I are buddies. Yes, he may fall from the good path upon occassion but who doesn't?

We need Sayid, we need his brains, his strength and his ability to sniff out an Other at thirty paces. So no, I won't be hitting him. Not anymore anyways.

i dont think Sayid has an issue with anyone who lies! :P Just anyone who lies about what side they are on... Ben claimed not to be an other, Mike claimed to be 100% lostie and mikolas claimed to be dharma....

Yeah im glad Mikky is alive..but that doesnt change the fact that he hasnt changed his supocious ways and the fact that he's only kept Mikky alive so that he can use him as a prisoner of war - what kind of example is Sayid setting? but why does he need to set a good example? As long as he's got an idea to get Jack back then that's all that really matters.

Because even smart and intelligent men like Locke and Jack follow his lead (more fool them). Sayid should set an example and do the right thing for once..not just take the option which gets him what he wants, but the option which is actually 'good'.

And for all he knows Jack wont want to leave heaven..i mean Othersville.

Since when did Sayid become so invested in the safety and welfare of Jack

I think he's just trying toget all his people back together again.
He's a very determined man and will do a lot to get where he wants to be.
It doesn't really matter about what is 'good', what matters is that he gets it done, its too much of a risk to do everything right.

Well maybe, im not saying your view of his motives is wrong

..it's just that i think he's a very unlikeable guy right now..and he does things which are just so wrong. I dont agree with his general mindset really..infact i dislike it muchly.

The man needs to treat 'Others' how he'd like to be treated

Sayid needs to be in control more than Boralocke, he's a man of experience and knows how to get things his way.
Boralocke can only come up with a few ideas and wacky paste people mad!

Hmm, i would contest that by suggesting that Locke has far more experience and knowledge than Sayid. Sayids a military man, whilst Locke is an 'everyman', in my view..

I suppos ethey do kinda complement each other, but i fear that Sayid is just too deluded to handle situations reasonably.

I was expecting this thread

I actually like Sayid. So far I have agreed to slap Jack, Kate and Paulo but not Sayid. He deserves a medal and a beautiful blonde

(yes hes the last link apart from Vincent to Shannon).

But if I was on the island I'd be his mate as hes so intelligent and makes Kate look dumb thats a gold star straight away. Hes also good in a fight.

He had the intelligence to use Mikhail to remove the bullet by gaining his trust. WHen Sayid got what he needed the tables were turned. If it were up to locke or Kate they'd all be dead by now.

Seriously though…

I like Sayid in a similar way I do most of the characters on Lost. I'd rather he was on my side than against me (see Ben, Locke, Juliet, Jack, Kate, etc etc)

But that doesn't mean I have a fondness of him. I question his ability to know who is an 'other' and who isn't. In a similar way I question Lockes motives and his 'sureness' (similar to that of Sayid) that he is right and everyone else is wrong.

But they're a good pair to have, in my opinion. Obviously, there are people who just plain hate Sayid/Locke - I can, however, see how they will compliment each other in a similar way Locke and Jack do. But then I'm a lover not a hater
