Best & Worst Sayid Flashback - Lost Community Forums - Official Spoiler-free Lost Fansite

I'm voting option 3 - TGG as the best and Solitary as the worst. I don't have much against Solitary; it was a good episode, esspecially with the introduction of Danielle but when I compare the flashback to TGG and OOT it seems bland.

And I think most people by now know just why I love TGG..........

I think it was one of the most powerful scenes in the flashbacks (out of all of the characters) and it sheds a light on Sayid's personality and behaviour on the island and esspecially how much harder it was for him to hear Sawyer single him out as a terrorist. It showed both the good and the bad of Sayid (except just the bad which is all we've been seeing recently) and although there wasn't tons of action it was a very emotional piece and I can't help but love it.

So - any opinions?

I voted option six.

I really, really liked OOT. I thought it was amazing, and really tragic to see Sayid forced into doing things he hated, and that he didn't want to do. Solitary, I love, but out of the three episodes, I think it's just my least fave...probably becuase I didn't like Nadia, but that's another story.

But there ya go.

I was tempted to go for OOT - I'd been theorising for ages about what would have made Sayid become a torturer and it was nice to find out what it was lol but it still couldn't beat Essam (I want to see more of him; see them at Uni or something, before Sayid was in the army.)

You really have a thing for Essam dontcha? Yeah, I think that's amazing, seeing Sayid's saddness and the like in that episode, but I thought OOT just beat it, lol. Both are really good though. Well, they all are. Lol.

Not too much of a thing but he was a good character! Better than the boring Charlie bandmates or Kate's cons.

But it would be nice to see Sayid pre army in general - and post army more as well - esspecially why he left and if his superiors found out about Nadia.

I think we're due one of his soon in the cycle. He usually comes packaged with Sawyer.

I've actually enjoyed all of Sayid's flashbacks.

Its rare I can say that about any character.

Too - Essam was the man who commited suicide at the end of TGG because Sayid had convinced him into becomming a terrorist when he had wanted to quit.

I already said to Beachy that he was a more interesting flashback character than most we've had to sit through.

At least he actually had a personality lol.

some have had personality! Well a few...

anyway i agree, the Essam episode was the best and the first flashback episode was the worst, although i enjoyed them all. Sayid has one of the most diverse and fascinating pasts of all the characters

Yeah, it's like Locke in my opinion, he constantly has room for other avenues to explore as opposed to Kate and Jack where we've seen practically everything about them.

I suppose it helps that they haven't overloaded us with his flashbacks.

yep. And they dont all seem like repeats of the previous ones, like jack and charlie

Indeed.

It's the wrong thread but I can't understand what they're doing with Sawyer. There is so much of his life that is good flashback material (his childhood, first con, after Clementine and so on) but they do nothing other than "here is Sawyer, here is person, Sawyer pretends to care about person, Sawyer cons person, there goes Sawyer."
