What if Sayid didn't dig up the grave??

Would he have probed Jack and Locke.
Snooped around.
Found out what he needed to and left?
Left with Locke, having converted him along the way?
Given away the fact the an Other by mistake

Of course AL & Libby would still be alive. But I'm looking at this purely from the Fenry side of things.



I'm out of things to say, so hopefully ya'll can shed some light on this with your opinions.

I do think that Henry was on his way to the losties camp, and that it was his aim to join up with them and find out what they were up to and what they had done. Both Ethan and Goodwin had been sent to infiltrate the two groups of crash survivors and had been found out and killed, so maybe he thought that if he wanted a job done properly he had better do it himself.

I don't think that Henry would have let slip that he was an Other, because even under torture and near certain death he stuck to his cover story and didn't give away any vital information.

And even though the fact that Locke wasn't on the list given to Michael could suggest that Locke wasn't wanted by the Others, I do still think that Henry did want Locke for something. Of course it could just have been another lie in order to get an idea of how Locke would act and, although I'm not sure that Henry came to camp lostie just to get Locke, I still think that Locke will have a an important part to play with the Others yet.

Possibly, Henry thought he could have just convinced Locke that they needed him, whereas with Jack/Kate/James, they needed kidnapping!

And I totally agree about Locke and the Others. He'll be with them in time.

Yes, good point. Henry seemed to get inside Jack and Locke's heads very easily, so we don't know just how much Henry and the Others knew about the survivors...Henry could have known about Locke's past and current state of mind, and known that the way to get Locke to the Others was to act as if Locke was special and that he was important and needed. Whereas Jack and co don't see the island in the same way that Lock does, they don't have as open minds and certainly wouldn't voluntarily join the Others, so they needed to be tricked into joining.

Yes, I think that he will be as well, because what does he have to stay for in the losties camp? He no longer has the hatch and the button to focus his energies on and so doesn't have a 'purpose' to work towards and hope for, and it's not as if the poor man has any close friends to stay for. So I think that he'll either be contacted again by the Others, or that he'll prepare himself for a jugle hike and try anf find their camp.

If Sayid hadnt dug the grave then i presume that Fenry wouldve had Locke's loyalty once he hepled him with the Blast door.. Locke (and Jack for that matter) wouldve had little reason to doubt him. Sayid would no-doubt have still found a way to incriminate the man..evidence or no evidence

It wouldve been interesting to see Fenry's plan unfold without any hiccups..espcially since at that point he seemed to be Locke's one and only friend on the island (bearing in mind James' barrometer of the word 'friend' ).

I agree that Fenry still has designs on Locke..i have no doubt as to locke's importance..if not to the Others then to an-other group ..but essentially i do believe that Klugh didnt put Locke on the list it's not his time yet..afterall, the Others seem to be patient people operating under an agenda..they couldve taken Jack, kate and James at the line..but they didnt..which suggests to me that Locke's time will come..eventually.
