I've only seen S3 once but Alex's Boyfriend, I think it's Carl, must be a similar age to her. We know that Dani is Alex's Mother yet if no-one can get pregnant and live on the island, have we any idea how Carl got there?? I don't need a biology lesson but I couldn't work out how he arrived

I have a personal theory that Karl may be older than he seems... similar to Richard... and that his parents are Adam and Eve.

odd theory that one mal.
but i don't think Karl is one of them at all. I believe him to be a man of his own tribe, some-what like Danielle was.

Cause he was with them... as he developed Ben's x-rays at one point.
And don't forget him and Alex have known each other since they were 8.

oooh you could be on to something there

i was thinking the other day why did Juliet get Karl to develop Ben's x-rays I would have thought that one of the adults would be assigned to developing x-rays rather than some teenager.

I'm not exactly sure... I'm probably scewing the story with my own Mythos... as I wrote a Karl episode for another site, and involved him being older than he seemed.

In "SiaSL" he said that he and Alex used to look and name stars when they were younger... as for the exact ages, I don't think they were stated.

Oh and I think he's in the dark as to some of the other's ways, because when he was on Hydra island, he asked Sawyer how far a walk it was to his camp... suggesting he didn't know he was the other island... suggesting he may have been drugged. Similar to Jack/Kate/Sawyer.

Thanks for the ideas, I like the one about him being older. Sorry I spelt his name wrong like I said I've only seen the series once so I have a good excuse!! I found it a bit weird that they were trying to brainwash him, if he were part of them I'd have thought he had their beliefs. I know he could rebel but he doesn't seem the type, he seems quite naive and soft hearted. I struggled with his character, as he seemed as though he wasn't scared to try and escape yet he feared being caught, which doesn't really make much sense. Can anyone remind me where he was at the end of S3??? I can't remember!!

Well they're all currently in the same location..by the radio tower

Ben handed Alex over to Danielle before Jack went all GI Jack on him. It can be assumed that Karl is also with them. 'Them' being the Losties, as he defected over to their group in "Greatest Hits", after Ally told him to warn them about the camp raid.

My primary guess is that he's somehow ended up on the island of his own accord, like Desmond did. He can't have come from the 815crash because of the stars comment and as someone said, he seems to be quite in the dark. Dharma is a possibility, if he somehow wasn't around when Ben planned his attack but would he be too young for that?

Maybe Juliet have asked him to develop the x-rays because, as a 'kid', he didn't have any form of strong alligence to Ben?
