New/Updated Forum Skins - Please Read

With Season 4 now only four months away i've been working on an overhaul of the site design/look and feel. Currently this is in the shape new themes and changes to the 'Island Blue' default theme.

A few of you are still using the old old old(!) Green/Black/Grey theme, which has Locke in the banner (see attachment below for reference):

This skin shouldn't be used - after we transfered the board software I made this theme but soon blocked everyone from using it even as an option because there where issues with the template etc that didn't work. So, those of you who are still using it please change from this theme or let me know if the system doesn't allow you to change. You need to change from this theme because the site and it's templates are not being optimised for that theme and so you will not experience the full goodness (features, updates etc) that you will on the other themes). If you REALLY like the colours used in that theme, fear not as I will be transfering those colours over to a fresh theme which uses the current templates..this will be in a few days. But for the time being please change from this theme.

Skin 2:
Now most of you (including guests) will be used to the 'Island Blue' Skin, seen below:

You may have noticed that this skin has undergone slight changes over the past few days..most notibly, there are now more white elements and a tighter fit to the design. There are technical reasons for this, but I also think it works better and integrates with the template settings better.

However, this theme will no longer be the default (the skin visitors/those browsing, not logged in see). This is because I've been working on 2 new Skin-sets. You can still use this theme, as it uses the same templates as the skins below and so everything intergrates well.

Skin 3:

This Skin is called "Journey Together" and comes with a fresh banner and fresh colours. You can use this theme if you like (see below for reference):

Skin 4:

Skin 4 is the new default skin which I will be using and the skin which all guests and visitors will see. If you are using a different skin but cannot see this skin when logged out (i.e. browsing/guest), it is because your cookies are set to auto-log you in whenever you visit the site. You can of course change this by going to your UserCP, but many people prefer to be auto-logged in as it saves them time/having to remember their password.

Here's a look at the new default skin for reference:

This skin is called "Find Yourself" and as I said, it is now the primary skin/theme for the LC.

To recap - I would recommend using "Find Yourself", but there is no problem in using "Journey Together" or "Island Blue", as all three use the same template and feature the same updates/icons etc. The only difference is that "Island Blue" 'currently' has a different banner (due to change soon). However if you're on of the few who are still using the Green/black/Grey "Renegade" theme, then please do change immediately, or let me know if you can't.

I recommend that everyone try our each of the three available themes and see which one works best for them.

-Use CP > Edit Options > Other Options (bottom right)
-Then choose either 'Find Yourself', 'Journey Together' or 'Island Blue', then press OK and it will change after reloading.

-The welcome message in the welcome box in the 2 new themes is slightly offset, but that will be sorted when I get a moment.

After a minor problem, you should all be able to change the skin. Just don't choose the Green/Black one as it's not being optimised for use with the current template and so you'll miss out on things if you do!

Update: With 'Find Yourself' and 'Journey Together' all of the link/font colours are sorted - i.e. the links/fonts in your sigs will be black by default, rather than white which I know clashes with the background. Those using 'Island Blue' will still have default white font in your sigs..as changing it affects other links on the index.

Just a consideration for those of you who don't like the white font in sigs.
