No not really. They started out as pointless and they finished up as pointless. It's true that people didn't give them much of a chance, pretty much the mometn they showed up people started having a go, and that was wrong; all characters needtime to settle. So we give them time and the writers kill them off because of public concencus. Waste of time and money or what? The only things that those two brought to Lost was the most awesome death and Nikki's cleavage.

i never disliked either of them. during this episode, i was loving paulo and hating nikki with a vengeance. to be honest, im kinda annoyed with the writers. we never saw anything about paulo and nikki for 3 seasons, so when they appeared and didnt do much, everyone hated them. so the writers finally give in and decide to kill them. fair enough. BUT first they hafta do an episode showing everything about them before killing them. just as we get to know them, they die. i liked paulo's character. and even though i hated nikki, i still thought she would have made a good character. Talk about killing "boone and shannon" off again lol

I feel cheated of an episode seeing as how they were both such a waste of space

I am getting fed up with series 3 its getting very stale and largely pointless and the only parts that I have liked about it are boring me as they are getting recycled every episode eg: Sawyers name calling overdrive

To be honest I don't think that they're both dead, maybe one, but two main characters?
Also when Paulo was burying the diamonds didn't Sir John say "Nothings stays buried long"

I was more sympathetic towards them before that episode.
