The Need to PUNCH P*ulo

Ok, i know im not alone on this one..i mean Jack and his swarmy grin is one thing..but THIS guy..well it's a whole different bunch of bananas..

I mean, it's even got to the stage where you have to laugh or you'll cry (well for me anyway)..the guys is a dissenter, and thats fine!..he's a cynic, we cant all believe right? ..he's got a hot babe, props to him for that..but man he's annoying! He reminds me of Jacob Crackers without the moisture of butter or the flavour of cheese (though he is a cheeseball)..

Anyhoo, the point is this..do you, like me, find yourselve shaking you head whenever this goon comes onto the screen? Do you find yourself wanting to wrap your fist in barbed wire and punch P*ulo..yes? well come this way

Okay, perhaps a tad too strong and of course it is said with tongue slightly in cheek, but still, the man is getting on my nerves (and im not the only one by the looks of things)..his only saving grace is the fact that his rubbishness is now becoming quite funny..

Haha, spend a Sunday evening with P*ulo..i never though LOST would come to this..

Personally.... I knew that Rodrigo Santoro was joining the cast at the end of S2 I did get very excited... however he seems to be the most pointless character.... he reminds me of Boone in S1.

I don't feel like whooping him but I do cringe when he comes on screen - he's just so 'unnatural' and doesn't look right on Lost, in my opinion. I'm sure he's a lovely guy and I know the writers have said "our (as in us fans') opinion of Nikki and Paulo will (eventually) change" (least they acknowledge their pointlessness [it's not a word, I know but..])

I actually think we're over reacting most of the time - myself included - but I think his (and Nikki's) inclusion was a bad move, and another method for the writers to stretch things out...

Personally, I don't see why everyone hates them so much. They haven't done anything wrong and no one has given them a chance.

They're just other survivors of the crash, surviving - and going about their lives on the island. I don't know why that would make anyone dislike them so much. Bernard and Rose don't do anything particularly useful and no one seems to hate them - but they're in basically the same situation as Nikki and Paulo.

Although I don't have a strong a desire to re-arange Paulo's face as I do Jack's, Paulo does indeed deserve a good smack or two.

So far nothing he has done or said has been in any way worthwhile to the storylines of the show, and neither do I find them remotely amusing. Fair enough if there is a plane crash survivor who doesn't want to be involved in anything except making sure the food supplies are kept up, but why on earth show us such a character then? Any one of the characters we already know about could do what Paulo has done.

This has already been said by several people before, but I agree with them when they say that it's the way in which Paulo (and Nikki) have been introduced to us: they were shoved into our faces in such an abrupt manner with the regular characters acting as if they have been there since day one. If they had had some passing reference made about them, like Steve/Scott/the frogurt guy, then their actual introduction would have seemed a bit more credible. And even with the sudden inclusion of Arzt for a couple of episodes, at least he had a purpose that was relevant to the story at the time. Even if it was just to moan about the island cliques before demonstrating how unstable the dynamite was.

I honestly fail to see what Paulo has brought to Lost, and whether he will bring anything to the show. And truth be told I don't think I'd care even if he did.

Right now this is my type of thread. *rolls up sleeves and adds the barbed wire*

If they really wanted to make Paulo interesting they could have made him part of the hippie brigade in 3x10 and integrate him more but they choose to make him a clown. An unfunny clown. Ronald McDonald clown.

I also have to laugh at his lines. The banana "gag" had me in histerics at the pointlessness of it and the oat cereal scene. Yes I used the word scene as its the closiest hes add to a scene of his own.

The man is so boring he makes Bernard seem interesting. Everyone hates the noob that does not want get involved and Paulo is certainly a noob.

If Paulo dies then I will laugh even more because he'd be like a stretched out version of Artz but at least Artz was funny and part of the storyline at the time Paulo adds sod all to the plot.

Even if they make him a hero in later episodes it would be too late for me. The guy just stinks and I don't mean what he did in the toilet.

I bet when we do find more about him we will probably find hes an insurance salesman or something even more boring!

I also hate the way he treats Nikki. Even if shes his wife/sister/girlfriend/daughter you shouldn't over protect like he does and wrap her up in cotton wool because she actually wants to help, wanted to help Hurley with the car

So Paulo, I spit in your grave now.

In fact if you had to choose between what paulo will do next:

A ) Go with Kate to find and free Jack
b ) help Charlie with his fears of dying
c) mop the floor but find out they are out of lemon Jif

You just know that it will be option C. Hes that boring and predictable and pointless

I can't think why you let him get to you so much. I think both he and Nikki waste lines that could be better distributed among a tighter and more deeply constructed cast with the weight of two seasons' development behind them, and that if you're going to bring in new characters at this stage they need to be as different from the main cast and as intriguing and 3d in themselves as Ben is. But as characters, they don't wind me up particularly... they've taken up a grand two minutes of screen time, probably, and I'm not going to waste twice as much time in getting angry about their essentially pointless presence.

The problem is Murg is that in those 2 minutes of screen time (or 4 episodes) he has not contributed anything. Nikki has shown a spark. Paulo is just plain dead.

The thing is, they managed it with Eko (what an incredibly 3d character he was!) and AL..even Libby, Cindy and yes even Bernard are more dimensional than P*ulo. It just leaves a bad taste in the mouth..i would prefer it if he was a redshirt like Scott and Steve..even they had/have a better following!

I can bear Nikki..shes grown on me slightly, for no other reason than she's at least enthusiastic (and nice to look at )..but this P*ulo freak..well..
