Does Eko Know..?

When Eko was helping Mike mop up Libby's blood from he hatch floor..he seemed to allude to the fact that he 'knew' that Mike had killed his friends:

*Mike asks Eko whether he believes in hell. This is Eko's facinating responce:*

"For a brief time I served in a small parish in England. Every Sunday after Mass, I would see a young boy waiting in the back of the church. And then one day, the boy confessed to me that he had beaten his dog to death with a shovel. He said that the dog had bitten his baby sister on the cheek; and he needed to protect her. And he wanted to know whether he would go to hell for this. I told him that God would understand -- that he would be forgiven, as long as he was sorry. But the boy did not care about forgiveness. He was only afraid that if he did go to hell -- that dog would be there waiting for him"

Now a few things -

1. Does Eko know that it was Mike who killed Libby and Ana-Lu? He sure seems to allude to the fact that he knows..especially if you watch his body language and listen to the manner in which he says the above quote..

2. IF he does know..just on on earth can he stay so calm? Is it because of his dream?

3. Just how selfish is Mike!? I mean, he's just murdered 2 innocent woman and all he can think of his whether or not he will burn in hell for it! I must say, he disappoints me at the moment.

But back to the poll: Do you think Eko knows that Mike is the real murderer?

Oh and btw, this is the 2nd time in recent episodes that Eko has alluded to the fact that he knows the truth - he did a similar thing with HG when he cut off his 2 lil beard remember.

Eko seems the sort of guy that would know, Mike has seemed so edgy since it happened and asking questions like that is suicide, espicially to Eko. I hope Eko hits him with the Jesus stick.

- I'm not sure if he did know it could just be one of those occasions when he just happened to say something similar to the situation at hand . I know, not likely, buuttt....

- Remember Lockes conversation with Sawyer [and Kate] when Sawyer was off after the boar. Locke had no idea what James was going through, yet his story fit the situation brilliantly [HMM Ironically, it also featured a dog? Coincidence?!]

So by that reasoning I don't think he KNOWS. But *shrugs* It's hard to tell

I loved that scene though..excellent acting once again from Adewale and Harold!

Gpood point about Sawyer/Locke [Outlaws, i believe it was]..like you say that is a very similar parallel to Eko/Mikes.

Although didnt Kate fill Locke in on some of the details before Locke went off on one about his mom, his sister and reincarnation..hmm..cant remember Eitherway, its still a parallel worth remembering.

Oo yes, i hope so! I love the way they open [possible] new paths for characters! It makes you wonder how much of it was always planned from the start and how much is added to the mix as they go along.

I think Eko is being an oracle, just like in "?". Its the subject who fills in the gaps.

Michael asks him in his capacity as a priest if he believes in hell, so he can be pretty damn sure he's sinned big time. This one is easy, even Malkin could have done it!
