This is mostly a fairly mindless observation, but it struck me that Mikhail's 'corpse' or whatever the proper term is for bleeding bodies that come miraculously back to life these days had been removed from the vicinity of the sonic field by the time Kate and Juliet returned to it in 'Left Behind'. Probably I noticed it on the first viewing as well, only it didn't seem significant when the chap was still getting on with being dead... I assumed the Others had come to tidy up after Locke's bragging to Ben about his fantastic brain-mangling deeds and general explosion fetishes.
Know what now came to pass, it could simply be that Mikhail revived some short time after his brain leaked out of his ears and just staggered derangedly back into the jungle, but I'm wondering if his return to the land of the living could've been brought about by the machinations of the Others: in between Locke's apparently killing him and his running flarewards (total side point, but he was responding to that flare as if he was expecting it), could the others have decorpsified the sonic field and taken Mikhail's mangled form away for some clever species of demangling? Or what have you? Could it potentially be more than a case of the island's bringing truly dead people back to life? Not, after all, a thing it's demonstrated a great deal of experience in thus far. |

I thought they were different areas
where Mikhail "died" there were trees on Losties side but not Other side and then where Kate and Juliet were there were trees on both sides of the fence |

Oh right. I assumed it was the same point. Still, I'd expect the Others to retrieve the 'body' after Locke revealed what he (thought) he'd done.

I am sure that Desmnd and his crew weren't the only ones to see that the copter crash so it makes sense that at least one Other was out looking for survivors (like Ben sent out Ethan and Goodwin when they saw the plane crash and I assume they rounded up on Henry Gale as well) and that naturally Mikhail did think it was Naomi that set off the flare it certainly led him to her

I personally thought that mikhail was looking for the others. After all the others have gone to god knows where and without the fmae hatch Mik is a bit redundant. I think he may have just been waiting for a sign of the others and ran towards the flare when he saw it, assuming that it was the others.

Ok I dont know how Mikhail survived - i got theories on it but dont really know for sure
However, it is my suspicion that Naomi may be working with the others, has a tool to manipluate Desmond, and henceforth he was already looking for her - had seen the same signs has Dessys gang, and of course Hurleys 'oops flare' hence why he was running, and why he saved her |
