Default For a man who claims to be his father...

That conversation between Ms Clue and Michael reminded me of the court room scene in "Adrift". When the lawyer had Michael cornered about not being there when he spoke his first words, when he took his first step (well I don't remember what the details were, but it was very emotional things he did not know and a father would).

OK, are the writers just playing a game of self references there? Or is there some madness in this method?

Maybe the others knew about the conversation, they do seem to know a lot about the losties, and maybe used it too wind michael up and to sort of convince him about it, it's not really a nice thing for michael to hear and might make him want to prove how much he cares about Walt to do what he did.

I actually posted this last night in the episode thread :P

Having thought about this, It is a statement that could be made about any "absent" father!

However this is Lost, and I am seriously worried about the similarity between Ms Klugh and Susans Lawyer.

I'm sorry !

*bashes Mushi with Jesus stick*

You see, the episode thread is alright if you are there from the beginning. But if you get to see it after a few days, all this changing of topics, replies to earlier posts about yet another topic - its just too complicated to get my head round.

So I prefer single themed threads.

Mind you, some single themes thread change direction completely too, but there you go. Its a free country!

I think this could be linked to the 'numbers' y'know *wait, let me explain :P

Psychology - 'Somehow' [lol, theory already broke down] they managed to stick the numbers all around [specifically] in Hugos past. Subconciously he will associate certain things with these 'numbers' - namely, bad luck!

Again, with phrases - Mike associates this 'quote' with lossing 'HIS BOY!' and so; anger, frustration hit him.

I think the same could be said about pretty much everyone of our losties. Locke associates people telling him what he can't do - with being put down/bullied? And so rightly, rattles his feathers and goes off to prove 'them' wrong...

That's why I keep coming to the conclusion that they're all being manipulated at some level, or atleast put in situations that 'activates' these 'hotspots' and [someone] watches the results...

I wonder - did the 4 on the list 'pass' their respected 'situations'

(I know someone said they had all seen things on the island - but I'm just building on it)

Ummmph

Survey Time!

Who's more annoying - Mrs K, or Mike's Wife's Lawyer.

Both poked at Mike for not knowing Walt. But Walt's mother took him away, what do you expect!! The legal systems in the UK and US suck and are unfair.

Anyways, Mike was only trying to defend the fact that his wife wanted to declare it official that Mike no longer be Walt's official parent and so Mike was arguing against this?

I'm glad his wife died, she was a b***h for what she did to Mike, and paying his medical bills so she looked good in court, that damned slimey woman!!

It was the exact same dialogue (bar the astral projection question) and no doubt played a part in Mike's ultimate decision to do whatever it takes to get "custordy" of Walt now that he has a second chance to live out that chapter of his life.

Both Mrs Klugh and Susan tried to make him look like a bad father by saying he didnt know anything - but how could he when first Susan took him away then he gets hit by a (or should that be "the&quot gold car as he decided he wants to see Walt and spends the next year of his life unable to walk. Its quite possible island forces were at work as early as this in Walt's life, the mysterious "death" of Susan (did we see a body? Did we have any proof she actually died? was it all faked to get Michael and Walt together on flight 815?) inclusive.

They wanted to manipulate Mike, and going over that conversation again was bound to stir up some emotions which he couldnt help but dwell on since he was bound to a chair for the following week.

Weird! I am loving the de-ja-vu, the island recreating the same problems for the in their new lives. Its as if the others control them through there pasts, fears etc. Hurley with the numbers, Locke with what he can and cant do, Micheal with his son.

And then the conversation between micheal and walt was wierd. 'They test me'. erg. The way it didnt seem like they knew each other (untill the hug ).

yay 2nd post hehe.

Oh, wait.

Thats a good point. Why did she ask him that.

Because Walt did appear in a place where he was not supposed to be, but to Shannon (and Sayid) and not Michael. And he was wearing an outfit that would mean more to Michael than to Shannon and Sayid.

So, what if the "room" she was referring to is a kind of teleportation device, but it requires a receiver who has some intimate knowledge of the subject, like deep rooted memories. So thats how Kate can see a Black Horse. But Michael cannot see Walt because he never saw him his whole life (except for a few moments). So at that point the device picked the next best subject. Why on earth that is Shannon I don't know, or it wasn't Shannon it was Vincent, and just like Sawyer could see the horse because he was with Kate, so Shannon could see Walt because she was with Vincent.

So, in effect she is asking "Did our experiment work?"

Does that make sense?

And now Michael has told her it hasn't he is of no use to them. Except for freeing Henry and to bring in other people on whom they conducted this experiment for questioning. Jack - Christian. Kate, Sawyer - Black Horse. Hurley - Dave.

Does that make sense, or is the last bit a step too far?

Well no not really only a few lines

It was very similar though, Mike saying "I dont know... I wasnt there" and the last line Mrs Klugh gave him.

oh yeah - there is a link between those four after all! They've all 'seen things' on the island and had strange hallucinatory experiences which no one else has (is that right??! except for Boone, who, um, is dead....)

not sure about the teleportation room theory though - it seemed to be a place where Walt didn't want to go back to... and for some reason, I think that teleportation woudl be quite a col thing for a kid to do??

Well Locke, Eko, Charlie and Claire have all had weird hallucinations / dreams but never consciously interacted with them in an awakened state like our list members.

This is an interesting take on it and then that would leave Sayid as the sole person who's also had an experience of seeing something he shouldnt when he saw Walt. The theory that they expected him to be seen by somebody he cared about / knew well rather than Shannon and Sayid also works. Mike didnt see Walt so they dont think Walt's projection worked?
