The Sickness!!!!!!!

We all knew this day would come one of our losties has got it!

He looked very pale and was running and making noises like an idiot, the big question is will Kate or Jack kill him for the greater good?

Also I hate this sickness storyline what are they all just gonna die from it or does the dharma food protect them?

If Michael does have the sickness, then I don't think that Jack (or anyone) would kill him. I'm still not convived the sickness is a disease in the traditional sense, and even less convinced that Michael actually has it. But if he does, I hope he pulls through because the poor man's been though enough as it is! Nice to see him back though.

I dont think he has the sickness, he's been running around in the jungle on his own for god knows how long with no source of food so he's bound to be a bit knackered. I still dont think there is a sickness and that its just the visions caused from Cerberus.

Im also not convinced that he has the sickness. I just assumed that he was running away from something or someone. perhaps he got caught by the Others and just escaped?

If however he does have the sickness then perhaps, as Mantis suggested, he was having a vision..maybe thats what the sickness is? Also, if he is sick then i doubt that Jack would kill him..even for the 'greater good', i couldnt imagine him doing Mike in. Afterall he and Mike are actually quite close..even if thats not always clear whilst watching, i do feel that they have a bond..especially back in S1 [seeing as Mike has been absent from Jack for all but 2 or 3 of this seasons eppys].

It reminded me of the time when Claire returned to camp after being captured by the Others. Perhaps Michael has been kept drugged in the same manner that Claire was? If he had been harder to drug he would have had a bigger dose and may take longer to come out of it.

I thought he just looked really scared and tired, i think something might have happened to Walt because Mike did seem pretty determined to find him and now he's come back without him.

Yeah he couldve been drugged or something? It did appear to me that Zeke had no time or no use for Mike but perhapshe changed his mind and decided to use him in someway..perhaps to make Walt more submissive?

Although i tend to think that Mike has been through some other ordeal..maybe he's just been wondering the island and encountered the Security System..he did remind me of Arzt [exodus], the way he was running. Or perhaps he encountered "Him"..although unlikely i must admit.

I must say I have always thought this "sickness" is more mental then any normal sickness. We would have seen more symptoms by now from what Danielle has said. I mean she never got sick did she but her rest of her team did and she killed them. Maybe she went dil-lally or something. She has heard the whispers afterall.

Also, how come Danielle has been on the island 16 years and never seen an other yet the lostees come across them after 5 minutes?

Yeah, i must say i am very open to this possibility now..the sickness could well be visions and dreams...which would mean that they are ALL sick, wouldnt it!? [well apart from Jin/Sun maybe?]. Of course this percieved sickness might not be a 'sickness'..such visions may well be the 'norm' on the island and not necessarily life threatening..unless of course certain visions are acted upon, like with the Locke vision of the beachcraft [eg Boon dead] or Charlies kidnap and almost drowing Aaron.. ..it's all really amigious and open to many interpretations at this stage.

[good point>] As for Dani not seeing anyone for 16 years...well she must surely be lying imo..as she seemed really comfortable in dealing with Henry didnt she? Unless she put all of her previous 'sightings' down to a vision or something? But then again, this surely cant be the case because how would she 'know' that Henry would "lie for a long time"? I mean she was positive about that..how did she know? She must surely have encountered or rather 'seen' them before?

I agree that the sickness is more likely to be mental rather than physical. Regarding the visions and dreams being a part of it. Well I'm not too sure. You would need to have some pretty dangerous visions for it to be sufficient for someone to kill you.

All of those could be subtle manipulation of the subconcious..maybe.

In season 1 Rousseau said that the others were carriers of the sickness, from what we've seen of the others they are pretty clean and civilised and don't look ill at all. Rousseau has been on the island 16 yrs and the losties have been there 2-3 months and they already know more about it than her!

Thats a good point..and that is also one of the many reasons why i dont trust Rousseau [although she has somewhat redeemed herself of late].

So..lets see:

-She said that the Others are the 'carriers' of the sickness.
-Yet we later see Ethan and co trying to ensure that Aaron has the vaccine to prevent the sickness..

So, does this suggest that the 'Others' are indeed sick and wanted Aaron to have the vaccine because they didnt want him to contract it from them? This would then also suggest that the vaccine doesnt work on the others since they would also have used it on themselves surely..?

Or is she just bonkers? ..Surely not as that would be too easy, right?

Need to think about this one.
