Ok bear with me on this..but ive just had a thought:
In Maternity Leave we see the ladies and Kate go to the Staff hatch where Kate comes across Zeke's fake beard [and some rag-tag 'others' gear] stashed away in a locker. So..this means that Zeke and the others abandoned their rag tag gear in favour of their real clothes, right? ..well maybe not..because if my lost timeline is right then wasnt Mike still captive at that stage? Which either means that: 1. Mike has seen Zeke and co without their disguises 2. They have more disguises and Zeke has more than one fake beard 3. Whilst Mike was captive Zeke and co made a little trip to the Staff to dump their clothes/disguises [unlikely..but hey] Hmm, i cant put my finger on it but somethings not right ![]()

Oh i didn't think of this, good point! If Mike's seen him without his beard, will he recognise him with it? Personally I think Mike was too wound up about Walt, not to mention confused about Alex asking questions about Claire (of course he knew nothing of that) to consider Zeke's beardlessness, but it'll crop up again.

Yeah Mike was rather wound up wasnt he. I do think he'll recognise him if/when he sees him again though..even if its withoutn the beard.
I really think we need to do an Others timeline..because something doesnt add up here. When did he leave the beard? Was it during Mike's captivity? ..or does he have more than one..if so then that will explain everything, lol

Brilliant point!!!
As we dont have a timeline and cant be 100% sure its hard to say but Claire was captured in season 1 dont forget, Mike hadnt yet been caught. We saw Zeke in Claires flashback without his beard and they hadnt yet caught Mike. We dont know when they abondoned that hatch it could have been straight after Claire escaped. Granted that is not enough time for Zekes beard to grow that bushy so it must still be a fake. It looks very real to me though, contiuity (sp?) error maybe? ![]() |

We saw beardo with his beard in Exodus so I'm not sure what you're refering too...
I presume they left the medical hatch as soon as Claire had returned to 'her people' incase she came back straight away. ![]() I think it would be easy to presume he has many beards. Or it's not the same guy!! [twins?! lol] I also think that stuff was left there on purpose. And where did they take all the medical stuff? Did they just wheel everything through the jungle one night? ![]()

I think that they probably have more than one disguise, although I also think that they don't really live in camps like the one that Michael saw, but live somewhere else (perhaps in that hatch - we don't know how far down that goes [unless I missed something.])
They didn't have disguises on in the ML flashbacks but like EPU has said, he did have it in Exodus, and he did have it when Michael was captured, so I think it is that they still want to present a specific image of the "weak and vunerable" Others - otherwise Jack and co wouldn't have agreed to go with Michael without back-up of the likes of Sayid and Eko.

Twins, now there's a point, anyone else remember the producers saying that there were twins on the boat but hardly anyone saw due to bad lighting, not sure if they meant Zeke or not, but it would explain a few things.

Were the costumes abandoned, though, or where they simply in storage? The village inhabitants were all wearing the rustic fashions rather than the scientists' clobber. Which confuses me, actually - I don't understand why they were continuing with that disguise, if that's what they were doing, when that blatantly high-tech hatch was in full view of Michael.

Twins? More like clones if you ask me...
I still reckon that the Others wanted to present to Michael an image of them being hard up, desperate people fallen on hard times that aren't as equipped or strong as the losties think. If Michael saw their living conditions with his own eyes then it would help him convince people that the Others were harmless, instead of having images of well equipped and deadly scientists in the back of his mind. Also the Others are counting on Michael bringing the people on the list to them, and if they see their poor living state it will make them think they have the upper hand.

They didn't do too fantastic a job of it then - they could've hidden the hatch. Having said that, perhaps it did fool Michael - I thought when he emphasised how primative and ill-equipped the Others seemed, he was talking the point up to help his plan along, but he really did tell Jack precisely what he'd seen. I'm assuming the Other don't, however, know about Kate's find (the costumes), meaning their efforts were pretty much all for nothing anyway. Except, again... Kate did tell Jack about this, yet he hasn't questioned Michael's claim that the Others are primative and poorly armed. They don't have overly fantastic memories on Lost.

Murgatroyd! They do seem rather niave dont they? Jack especially, notice nobody questioned there being no blood trail from the armoury to the couch when Ana died either. Anyway, back to the topic. I think Jack may have been a little bit preoccupied what with two of their people dying to properly consider what Michael had been saying in comparision to what Kate had told him, but then again, Kate didn't mention anything when Michael was speaking either! Thank Goodness for Sayid! Wonder what his great plan is? ![]()

I'm pretty sure they weren't counting on Kate finding the disguises either, but maybe they know that the losties aren't big on talking to each other and sharing information? If the Others are better armed and equipped then Jack and co, perhaps they are confident that they will be able to fight and defeat anyone who challenges them about the disguises.
