Already a sensation in America, Lost is the latest TV phenomena to wash up on British shores, thanks to Channel 4.

The premise is simple - in the aftermath of a plane crash, an eclectic group of survivors struggle to adjust to life on a mysterious desert island. What lifts Lost above the norm is the tangled web of secrets and lies that led each of them to their fate.

As the castaways squabble, fight and try to stay united in the face of hardship, flashbacks to their lives before the accident fill in the blanks and reveal that nobody is what they seem.

Spicing up the situation even further is the mounting evidence that this is no ordinary island. Clues abound that they are not alone, strange recurring radio signals hint at other occupants, while a mysterious and hungry creature roams the depths of the jungle.

Packed with mystery, drama and action, Lost is addictive viewing and looks set to join Twin Peaks as one of the great television conundrums.

Lost begins on Channel 4 at 10pm on August 10th.

then probably not It sounded a bit too angsty and the kind of thing where you know they'll all be upset, and then they'll fight, make friends and get rescued/all die. But I immediately thought of a great big T-Rex stomping about, and i love a good dinosaur me Even though it isn't a dinosaur... which I must admit I'm still a bit narked about

I wouldnt watch it from reading that I only watched it because i was staying at my dad house and he was watching it Thank god he did and its funny coz thats the only episode he ever watched and ive been hooked ever since!

I cannot really decide whether based on the description I would have watched it, though it does sound awefully unique and different.

And FBF, perhaps there is a Dinosaur on the Island - only it sends it's trusty old friend the Black Smoke to do it's dirty work. When those trees started disappearing, I thought it WAS a Dinosaur.

Lol I though it was a dinosaur untill Jack said they are extinct that never even crossed my mind.
Knowing what i know now about the show the dinosaur theory is a bit more possible

Well I honestly though it could have been a Dinosaur even back in early S1 because of the way it sounded and the way the trees were trampelled and ripped up. Even though they are extinct, they could have been on the show via some excuse - but it would have been a terribly boring concept.

lol, for some reason I thought of a T-Rex sitting in a cave with a cigar with Marlon Brando's voice in the Godfather Sending the black smoke to go out and whack some mercenaries
