I think that Ben as a character is certainly on the path to redemption - the recent revelations about his moral outlook in comparison to Widmore have certainly (IMHO) changed peoples opinions on him. Like him or not, he's becomming ever more sympathetic and I feel that his character is now being 'redeemed' the further we progress into the everlasting story. Your point about 'successul' redemption is interesting, because if we think about it, can redemption ever really be successful? I'm not sure..there's always a tinge of sadness attached to redemption, even when someone like Charlie, and possibly Jin, achieve it. However, one could also note that neither Sayid nor Sawyer have "successfully" redeemed themselves - they've attemped it on a few occassions, yet they have failed. We could, also, mention them in this light aswell as the pinata that is Ben ![]() |
