The UV Map!

I found this really interesting but it happened so quick that I couldnt get a good look at it. Anyway im going to try and develop some thoughts on this:



Firstly..were the UV lights installed so that this map could be drawn and concealed? [very "Da vinci code" aint it!]..or did the UV lights have another purose? At the moment it would seem to me as if the UV lights were installed for this very function..but then wouldnt that mean that they [Dharma?] planned to hide important information from prying eyes? Hmm

Okay, so theres a hatch which appears to have been crossed out..now does this mean that there are or were 7 hatches!? ..or did the artist just draw one of the hatches in the wrong location? ..Hmm, well im starting to think that there might be a 7th, 'secret' hatch!.. h34r:

The 7th Hatch, I havent thought about that possibility myself, I dont know why I didnt though. I thought that the map was most likely to be the art work of the "Button Pushers" so I find it hard to believe that they would have had access and the facility to install UV lights and it is possible that they could have simply made a mistake when drawing it.

There is a lot on the map about Sickness, so possibly the 7th Hatch was destroyed or is a No-go area.

However Im not sure how you write in UV either and it seems a little convienent that there were UV pens lying around.

Okay..this is SOOOO interesting...if you look on the map..you can clearly see the 'Swan' symbol marked on one of the hathes..obvioulsy this is the Swan hatch...and it seems to be the 'main' hatch funnily enough..although ALL 6 [or 7!?] hatches seem to point to a main/central hub! Now I wonder what this could be! ..and whatever it is could it be at the centre of the island? Because the Swan hatch does appear to be near the coast doesnt it..as it's not that far from the beach..

Also, I think that I can make out the 'Arrow' Hatch which is 2 hatches to the left of the 'Swan' hatch. In fact im going to try and draw up a list of the hatches, starting with the Swan:

1.The Swan
2.Nefuse??
3.The Arrow hatch[??]
4.Scribbled out hatch - does this one still/actually exist!?
5.[or is this the:] Arrow hatch!??
6.??
7.C4 hatch - explosives!??

Also on the map appears to be 3 smaller landmarks which have CV1, CV3 and C4 [i think] written on them? Not sure what this is? Although there is lots of writing on this map and there is one bit that says "possible CVII inactive since accident"..what accident!? Is this the "incident" Candle spoke of!?

..and then theres the big question mark in the central hub type landmark?

The is WAY too interesting!!

Yeah thats a good point Mush - they may have made a mistake when drawing it!

Also does this mean that they allowed the timer to run down to the bare minimum [or completely?] in order to draw this? No doubt then this mustve been a 2 man job..I think Mantis mentioned Kelvin, did he draw this? Also IF they did allow the timer to run down would this completely shatter Lockes faith if ever he found out!?

As for the 'possible' 7th hatch, you could be right, maybe it was destroyed..or perhaps it's just a no-go area!?

So much to consider! Im sure if anyone was disappointed at the likes of EHH etc..all is now forgiven!

Well I am off the opinion that the blast doors came down due to the "Drop" not due to the numbers being entered. I initially thought that, but there was actually a warning of a "Lockdown" before the doors came down. I think it was Mantis who said even if there was a drop every two months, how long must that of taken for them to draw?

Hmm, yes..I like the idea of the blast doors coming down due to the 'Drop'..as there was a countdown, perhaps indicating that something bad would happen and so fooling the hatchers into thinking that the doors were coming down for their own protection..

So this is indeed how the hatch gets replenished..and it was "henry's" job to replenish it? Hmm..something still doesnt add up..because would this mean that Henry is Dharma or Hanso [in terms of his allegience]? I initially thought he was Dharma [aka an Other] but IF his job was to replenish the hatch then it would seem more likley that he was part of the Hanso group. And it would seem likely that he was assigned to bring Dharma-brand food to convince those in the hatch [Kelvin, Desmond..] that Dharma is still in operation, when in fact it's not..its been run underground..?

Also, would this mean that Henry came from the 'real world'? So he actually navigated his was accross the pacific? Why in a balloon though? Was this because he/they knew that planes and ships would be detected and brought down? Hmmm....

..and I agree..it wouldve taken ages to draw that map!

Yes Jesskah, that is the copy of the map I have at home, with all the writing translated, though mine does seem to be bigger than that, though it might just be this crazy PC.

When you actually read all the stuff that is written about the Sickness, such as "The cure is worse than the disease" I think it says, it is totally amazing, I have been studying it for a week and still not made any sense of it! lol

Oh my! could this be something:

"Lift up your heart
Lift up your heart
Lift up your heart" [next to the staff/medical hatch]

Could this be in reference to what Desmond said to Jack in MOSMOF flashback: "Lift it up" ?? afterall it does seem too coincidental that he would mention 'lifting it up' in relation to Sarahs medical condition and then those similar words would be written right next to the medical hatch!..does this offer a clue that Des drew [or helped draw] the map? Does this prove that Des DOES know more!?
