If we think that Henry did press the button and input the numbers during the lockdown, does this mean that we think the UV lights also came on when Locke failed to press the button in time???

Also, do you think that the tv screens in the pearl were for different hatches or different rooms in the swan?

I wonder if the UV lights came on in any other rooms in the hatch? If they did Henry wouldnt have told Locke would he. When the hyrogliphics came up but Locke just managed to punch the numbers in before the last one came up that probably stopped the UV lights coming up.

What is the purpose of the UV map? Was it painted by a rebel Dharma worker as a map of the island should anyone need to escape?

I think the screens in the pearl were for different hatches. I cant remember how many screen there were, if there werea lot they were probably for each room in each hatch on the island.

Hmm, I think the UV lights only come on momentarily when the blast doors go back up so i doubt they came on before.

As for the Pearl's monitors..I agree with SR, they were for different hatches..though i also wouldnt rule out the possibility that one of the monitors was for a secret room inside the Swan. A room where Others/Dharma peeps currently reside perhaps..

[or perhaps i just watched too much Boig Brother this summer..

Also..a monitor can change channles so they probably did have access to other rooms in the Swan and other hatches at the switch of a button..?

I think during the orientation video, he says something about observing 'just the one' hatch. So all those cameras [I presume] are connected to different cameras in 'the swan'

Also, during the video we see someone on the monitors behind 'Dr Candel' on the same monitor that we see Jack roaming around on earlier...

I wonder if any of the other monitors work, or ever had

I'm pretty sure it's meant to be Calvin but maybe not. :P
Lord Kelvin was an Irish physicist, named after the River Kelvin which flowed by Glasgow Uni (where he studied). He worked on electricity and thermodynamics (thus the temperature scale named after him).

John Calvin invented (wrong word, I know) Calvinism, a protestant Christian doctrine.

Desmond's replacement was there only a short while, while the video is well old.
