Question BETRAYED by Locke

The other night I re-watched the impressive 'Lockdown' episode..and something struck me as being interesting.

When the blast doors came down Locke asked Fenry for his help in attempting to lift them..however, Fenry wanted protection - he wanted Locke to promise that he would protect him "no matter what". In other words Fenry wanted Locke's word on this matter..after some deliberation and probing Locke eventually agreed - "Ok, you have my word".

Now we all know that Locke didnt keep his word..because after Sayid and co blew Fenry's cover Locke began to doubt his blast door helper. This despite Locke giving Fenry his 'word' that he would protect him. Instead Locke allowed Sayid to crucify (literally!) and almost kill the man..

Now what im getting at is this - Fenry previously implied to Jack that the Others (his people) are on the "honour system" and that idea was further backed up by the fact that Fenry and the Others later upheld their side of the bargain with Mike over Walt and the boat in return for Mr 'Gale'. In fact Fenry seemed to emphasise the value that he and hsi people place on honur and keeping ones word.

So, basically..do you think that Fenry is angry at Locke for not keeping his word? Is he disappointed in him? Afterall, Fenry was 'apparently' coming for Locke - has this changed his mind on Locke and his importance? Was this one of the reasons why Locke wasnt on the list (as we can presume that Klugh and co were watching hatch events unfold via CCTV) Will Fenry strike back?

(Btw, i dont necessarily believe this myself..it just crossed my mind )

Locke wasn't really in a position to prevent Sayid from stringing up Henry - at the time, he was immobile in the bunk and having his wound dressed, and then waiting about five billion years from Kate to stop faffing around with the crutches and actually bring them to him. He did start yelling when he heard the gunshot. On the other hand, he also left Ana Lucia alone with Henry when he was the only one who knew she had a reason to want him dead, though he didn't know, to be fair, that she'd tricked Sawyer out of a gun - when he did discover that, he belatedly mobilised the party.

So I doubt Henry's too peeved with Locke on that account - he did express his frightening devotion after Locke had beaned him with a crutch to prevent him from throttling Ana Lucia, so apparently his love is fairly unshakeable. If he loved him in the first place, mind. He's a bit of a one for fibbing.

I took Locke's covering up for "the srtist formerly known as Henry Gale" in two for the road (i think) as him looking after Henry. He didn't want to say about him trying to stranggle Ana in case Sayid and Jack went kung fu on his ass. Although i do find it odd that Henry said about taking Locke and then they take Kate, Sawyer and Jack instead. Althugh i suppose we don't know if Fenry was fibbing and we don't know what the others want with our heros.

Interesting points - i suppose Locke did help Fenry out by not grassing on him to Jack over the Ana incident - though at the time i took it as him covering for Ana..hmm.
