Default "Find rescue" rather than "Get rescued"

What Henry said to Michael was "follow this direction, and you will find rescue". Michael then says "if I do this I will get rescued?". Now Henry does not correct him, but its not what he said.

Its a strange wording, "find rescue", isn't it? I would not use "find" in this context. People can find peace, their inner strength, that sort of thing. It sounds more like rescue in a spiritual rather than physical sense to me.

Is that what he meant? What will Michael find?

'Finding resuse' for a person in distress or even extreme pain can come in the form of death...

There might indeed be a double meaning here, as in finding rescue physically and thus also spiritually after all theyve been through.

However i perosnally do feel that using the word 'find' in this context is accpetable and perhaps simply refers to the possibility that 'rescue' wont be easy to find..he's gonna have to search for it perhaps. Afterall what kin dof rescue will just be waiting out there..Dharma operatives who patrol the area under the guise of sea patrol (who will then transfer Mike and Walt back to the real world)? or genuine sea patrol? if its the later then it might very well be the case that Mike will have to search for resuce because what are the chances of him getting spotted before dehydration and starvation etc kick in? Perhaps it might have been better for him to stay on the island?

That makes sense too.

Looking forward to Michaels and Walts adventure in the middle of the Ocean, then. Hope they got enough fuel, food and water, and ammunition to shoot the sharks. The boat did not seem particulary big though...

I think Micheal will come back in the Season 3 finalé, to pick up Vincent. Or maybe the Season 3 pilot, who knows?

I was wondering about the 'bearing' he was given by Henry in the finale earlier.. Now I can't remember Orientation from my ex-school's outdoor activities classes that well, but is a bearing a direction or a location??

Tis a good point about what the rescue will be for Michael & Walt, as it will be most likely be Dharma operatives who will either take them back to the Island or away from the Island (but I think that's unlikely as we surely haven't seen the last of Walt yet!), or normal sea people (god knows what people that patrol the middle of the sea are called, or whether they actually exist), but I really can't see Henry (or whoever is the real leader), allowing 'normal' people that near to the Island, and to some of it's survivors in Michael & Walt..

In my opinion, it's definately a trap-like thing for Michael. Maybe the others are just putting on a front or something for Hurley to go back and tell the Losties that at least the others are noble..

But I think Mike and/or Walt will definately be back. We can't have seen the last of them yet.. Walt could maybe 'appear' to the captured Losties to tell them how to escape or something, though that's unlikely seeing as he would probably have escaped if he knew how!

A bearing is a direction - but its in terms of a compass, and I suspect that after The Swan imploded, this is pretty meaningless as the island will make the compass even more useless than it already was (remember Sayid saying its not working?)
