Kates dad = DHARMA!? - Lost Community Forums - Official Spoiler-free Lost Fansite

So..we know that old 'Kelvin' was a member of the Dharma Initiative (to give them their full title). We know that Kates dad was in the the same regiment (or whatever you call it) as 'Kelvin'..so could this mean that Kates step-dad was also Dharma?

I mean i think it's been pretty much established that the Army..or certainly members of the US military from that era (1993?) were brought to the island under the Dharma umbrella..so a few things to consider:

1. Is this why Kate was on the List - because her step-dad is part of Dharma and wants her near him?

2. Why did Dharma need the army? Was it to help control the incident? Or was it to help wage a war with...with who exactly..HF? or perhaps Aliens? (perhaps we are heading in that direction what with the 4 toed statue and all..)

3. Desmond was in Her Majestys armed forces - is there a link in this..and what about Said, he was in the Army..as was Hurleys friend..

Any thoughts?

I'm not too sure about kate's dad being dharma but there is definatley some sort of army link to the others, pickett was talking like an army guy, he mentioned klicks.

I'm not sure that Kate's fake dad was in Dharma but he could be. If he was then I doubt that he'd deliberatly have her on the plane just to bring her closer to him. He did care about her in WKD when we apparently saw him give her time to leave (although this was never comfirmed) but he said that he knew she was capable of murder for years and that doesn't seem too loving a thing to think (know) about someone.
