Why did Kate blubber?

When Libby was dying.

She never cried with Shannon or Artz or Boone or Ana or even Scott.

Did she realise that with Libby dead that Hurley might try and get his hands on her too?

To be fair though she was sad when Scott [or is it Steve?] died..moreso than Hurley or mean Sawyer anyway And when Boone died she was also one of the few people to even look sorry!..whilst everyone else was oodling over the baby!

So ive got to give it to Katie..even though she's not my cup of tea, she does have quite a decent sensitive side..i guess i overlook that at times and it was nice to see her shedding a few tears over the departed Libby. The last time i recall them speaking, Kate was about to knock her block off..but it's good to see that she can still manage a few tears for her.

Kates a funny one because sometimes i think she SO selfish but then she does get all sad when people die or help out when people get injured or when their safety is at risk [for example, she went along with Locke when he went off to go down into the hatch cos she was worried about him breaking his neck..or perhaps she was just up for a journey? ].

Why did Kate cry when Libby died? I dont know, she cried when Charlie was hung aswell but at least she'd spoken to him at some point prior to that.

Also why was she so "concerned" about Michael? First when he ran off she wanted to go, then when he came back she was sticking up for him against Jack? She's not the remorseful type and she surely hasnt forgotten she poisoned him and then stole his only english speaking friend when they got back with the tailies.

I dont think Kate and Libby have ever really spoken to each other directly, maybe it was just the way it was drawn out and she could see it. Arzt was a very sudden death, Boone she wasnt around for, Shannon she seemingly didnt care about as she was too busy going mad and she didnt like Ana. I dont know, its really hard to think of a reason for Kate to do anything.
