The Need to KILL Kate

I'd love it if Kate met her end as soon as possible, since I find her a dreadfully boring and pretty pointless character. Her flashbacks are simply repeating themselves, and I suppose she could have a couple as to what her life was like before she went on the run, but I can't honestly see them being of any great importance. As for Kate on the island, all she has really done this season is be a part of the Triangle...at least Jack and Sawyer have had some individual storylines, but Kate hasn't. In a way it's a shame that the leading lady of Lost is reduced to flitting between two men all the time, but on the other hand I can't stand Kate and have no great love for Evi's acting, so having Kate in a bigger role wouldn't actually please me either!

But I can't see her being killed off though...it would be incredibly brave for the producers to do so, but unfortunately I can't see it happening.

'It would be nice'. I'm not strongly against her, but I agree with other people in saying that Kate has clearly got nothing left.

Jate and Skate has been going on way too long and it is now just boring. If Kate was out of the picture I would enjoy watching Jack and Sawyer a lot more - just imagine the freedom they would have

Her flashbacks have truely met the end of the road too. In series 1 I didn't mind them too much, but now they're comfortably the weakest out of everybody in Lost.

As for the discussion of who could fill her boots as the leading lady in Lost then I say Juliet...simple as

I don't hate her but she's just got nothing left. That's my reason for why I wouldn't mind seeing her gone.

If she did die it would be the basis of that episode and therefore a pointless episode (i like her i just can't see that if she did die that it would be an interesting death) much better just to have her fade into the background and let all the other women shine

I agree, I think Kate has more potential than the writers have so-far given her, and her flashbacks are all the same. All in all, I don't think she's liked (and by like I mean, she's not someone people can easily related to in my opinion) then I don't think her death would make that big of an impact. However, saying all that, both Sawyer and Jack would become shells of the men they are - and I know many hate the whole love triangle, but I think watching Jack and Saywer mourn/avenge/mourn/accept Kate's death would be oh-so much worse...

And I've actually liked the love-triangle the last few episodes. It was getting pretty dull but adding Jules and Jacks "I don't care anymore" attidude has improved it me thinks.

Oh, and I don't want any of them to die. Kate is no exception. However, I would rather Locke died - because I think people would actually give a damn and thus fab TV

as much as i dislike the man right now, i wouldnt want locke to die- he is crucial to lost- him and jack are the 2 characters that mostly fuel my interest in Lost.

Oh don't get me wrong I'm one of the few(?) who thinks that both Jack and Locke are huge to the show. But I think that's the reason a death from either would cause such an impact.

Edit: The reason I think this is because I don't think either = Lost. Season 1 I was a big Locke fan and felt he = Lost. But now, seeing that he, actually, has no more of an idea as to what's going on as anyone else kind of brings him down to an average guys level. Of course, I still think he's great - just not an untouchable character in my opinion.

yep, i get what you mean. a death of either of those two would have a HUGE impact, within the show, and for the audiences. if that be the case, i think jack is more likely to die at the end, than locke. just have a nagging feeling they will kill jack off near the end of the series

But Kate..well i know what you're saying..she is a main character in Lost..but i dont feel that its deserved. I feel that JJ (bless his cotton socks) wanted a certain 'look' for Kate..and with Evi, he got what he was looking for. I feel that had she not been elevated to the main female lead, she would've been axed ages ago.

Tbh i dont know where my dislike of Kate ends and my disinterest in Evi begins. All i know is that she gets outdone everytime she steps on screen with a powerhouse like 'Juliet (E. Mitchel)' or some of the other ladies. And although her vunerability in acting does come in handy for Kates character, overall i find her dull and boring. I dont she where she can go.. i mean, weve done the Jate/skate thing now..shouldnt we just put it to rest.

Afterall the creators always say that theyd like to end Lost before it gets stale..well, should they not apply the same viewpoint to individual characters?:P

I TOTALLY AGREE. I think her character is deteriorating rapidly, since the creators seem to only use her to pedal the Jate/Skate thing now. She started off as a deep character with layers but since she has been sleeping with Sawyer despite her obvious feelings for Jack my opinion of her has fell tremendously - imo she is not some-one with much moral fibre or remdeeming qualities. She is self centred, self obsessed and ultimately self destructive (For example, if she does manage to eventually win Jack around how do u think he will react to her sleeping around with Sawyer?) She is some-one who continually acts on their whims regardless of the consequences to others. PLEASE get rid of her for the love of God. Let Jack go off with Juliette and bring back Ana Lucia for Sawyer
