But that aside, yes she is using Sawyer - I do think she cares about him, and I am getting tiresome of it. I just don't think you need be quite so vulgar

In a way I'm kind of pleased that Kate is showing her true colours and actually doing what she wants to do because it means that her character has moved on.

All the way through seasons one and two she did nothing but run crying to Jack and then Sawyer and then Jack and then Sawyer. Personally the love 'triangle' or 'square' or whatever it is now doesn't interest me much but at least Kate's character is finally making some progress - even if it is to lose more morals and to use people it's something different! It's something new! (Even if we all knew it all along lol.)

Yeah she was wrong to use Sawyer, and yeah the spoon thing was, quite frankly, disgusting but at least she's shown some emotion that wasn't crocodile tears and high-pitched crying voices.

Her apparent indecisiveness annoys me more than the whole using thing (which Sawyer didn't appear to mind by the way).

I can't stand Kate, as a person. In a similar way I can't stand Ben - but I still like 'specifics' of their characters - notably, less so Kates (and I think Ben is a great character...). She uses people, emotionally and physically - and although I do find her mighty...erm attractive :P. I wouldn't be able to stand her...

Having said all that, although this may be part of her act, there's this "she doesn't seem to know what she's doing" attribute she has. Like Murg said on the ep thread (I think) she seemed to be genuinly be hurt by Sawyers "you're just using me" remark. Now, like I say, maybe she's (as in Kate) just that good an actress; and she's just playing with Sawyer. Or maybe she doesn't seem to understand that what she does has an effect on other people, namely those who are in love with her - i.e. poor Sawyer.

No I won't defend her, I think what she did was wrong and pretty low (whether she knew what she was doing or not) but I think some people are going over the top...

Right first off, Sawyer knew she was using him, albeit afterwards, but still he didn't look to bothered did he? He knows she's done it before, and she'll probably do it again. Therefore no harm done to Sawyer by it.

Secondly, what's so wrong with the spoon thing? I don't get why some people are going on about that. At all.

Also Abbs if you didn't think that her body was hot in the changing scene, dude you've got no testosterone in your body at all.

Look we all know how insecure Kate is, we also all know how much she really wants to be with Jack. Yes she's jealous of Jack and Jules, that's why it hurts her so much when she sees them together. Sawyer is her way of feeling loved. It's no wonder that when she's hurt she turns to the one man that she knows she'll get affection from. Perhaps this is using but is anyone really being hurt by it? Kate, whilst incredibly irritating at times, does not deserve some of the stick she gets and certainly doesn't deserve this threads original title.

Sorry Abbs but I changed the title. While I wholeheartedly agree with the sentiment, the wording was perhaps a bit offensive for people. I hope the slight change still conveys your point.
