Of course she does physically have a heart, I tend to think she does care for people but she will put herself before others usually, probably due to her experiences a la Sawyer..

She does! You're all mean kate-haters! Kate clearly cares about a lot of people, she just cares about herself more than she cares for others. She can't run away from it all on the island though - she clearly cares for Sawyer and Jack.

T'is only Abbott (present in this thread) whom hates Kate. While I recognize what horrible things she's done I do like her as a character.

I'd like to agree with you, but I question whether she'd do say, something like Jack is doing now. Though I'd hardly say 'not putting your life in danger' is a bad character trait. She's a puzzle.

She has shown signs of caring for people, but then followed that up with running away from them. Perhaps she feels that whomever she cares for ends up getting hurt; her father, mother, Tom, cop she married [name escapes me] and so keeps her distance. She knows how to play guys off of each other though, that's clear

Enough with the Kate hate

I dislike some characters, but I don't go out of my way to show this! Kate never even did anything that wrong in the first place, she did what she could with the life she was given (as Eko would say). She did the only thing she felt she could in the situation she was in.

She does have a heart, she cares for many people. The farmer that she worked for for example: she tried to make sure he got his money even although he had turned her in - because she knew he needed it. She also saved him from the burning car.

She cares for Sawyer (Spoiler for non Sky veiwers) so much that she was risking her life for him in "I do".

She cares for Jack. She was obviously upset for the deaths on the island: Boone, Shan, Libby and Ana. She helped Clair deliver her baby, even though she was scared and unsure. She went on that treck to help Claire find the Vaccine for Aaron even though she knew it was dangerous. She helped Sun when she found out she was pregnant. She Helped Sawyer let go of his obbsesion with catching the real Sawyer. The list goes on...

So there! Kate does have a heart!

I agree her actions look heartless; but she's doing what's needed to survive. (Minus the plane getting attempt, then again she did nicely shoot them all in the legs lol!)

Some examples of Kates heart have already been stated (the farmer being a good example) she got caught dragging him away from a car crash. But he is also another example of someone she's - trusted, be betrayed by, then had something bad happen to them..

I don't blame her running, thing is on the island she can't run (well not far) and that's made her sit down and take note. She's changed loads since season 1. As most have to be honest...
