There seem to be very mixed opinions about Kate in S2, I like her. But I must admit she was much more exciting and mysterious in S1. This Season she seems to be less of a main character, which has disappointed me. All she has going for her just now is the whole love triangle thing. I feel her character has more potential than that. Anyone agree?

I'm afraid I've never taken a shine to Kate. I think that as the lead female character she should do more than just play about with Jack and Sawyer, and should have far more interesting flashbacks. I don't think Evi's the best actress either, and I just, well, find Kate pretty dull and don't really care what happens to her!

I picked that i "dont like her and never have", though "Bloody hate her" was also a tempting choice

I just dont understand what people see in her really. Sure she's decent on the eye [at times] but she's the sort of character that i just wouldnt miss..if she died i dont even think i'd come close to shedding a tear. I agree with Ki about the Jate thing

..i dont really see the point in having a Kate, especially now that Ana's here..at last we have a real heroin to look up to [i mean Ana btw

]. Also i dont think that Eva can act for toffee..maybe a bit harsh there

so i'll just say that she has improved in the acting realm [see Maternity Leave] but on the whole she's got a far way to go.

Aww, everyone I know seems to not like/hate Kate.

I don't - in fact I quite like her. Although for a long time I couldn't stand her, wanted her to be eaten by a polar bear, etc. as I never forgotten the marshall saying she was dangerous. I can't remember what it was that made me change my mind, but one day I just saw her differently. I was personally pleased at "What Kate Did" that she hadn't done anything too terrible (although maybe blowing up your dad would count as terrible!) because I felt I could start to relate to her instead of wondering whether she was just a cold, mechanical killer. And during Maternity Leave I warmed to her even more. I think she's one of the people who really has made the most of her second chance, and until I have a reason to mistrust her, I'm not going too.

And I don't think Evie is a bad actress... I think it's one of Kate's qualities to be quite distant. This is her first main acting job, and although she's still a little raw she's improving all the time. Plus when I heard her on the commentry she sounded lovely, and I think she's really beautiful. Neither have anything to do with her acting, but I don't like to read so much negativity!

The one thing I worry about is her relationship with Sawyer. Suprisingly enough I am fine with it if it is just Sawyer. Until he finds me , I want someone to care for him, I can't stand seeing him so alone. But the love triangle does worry me... if she were ever to hurt Sawyer, forget the polar bear, I'd be pumping water straight over there with a giant baseball bat and kill-Kate t-shirt :P

Kate has taken womans lib back by about 50 times playing the object of affection between two of the leading men. WHere in season 1 she looked like being an independant strong woman shes turned all soppy in season 2 and her big reveal was a let down (IMO).

SHe is a bad actress but she makes Matt Fox look good. I saw Matt Fox on Haunted on ITV 4 or something and he was shockingly poor.

If Kate got some really good scripts then I may just about stomach her - Problem is we already know her background (didn't she have a failed marriage/pregnancy or something) so shes a bit of a failure which won't increase my likeability towards her.

Also, Eva is crap as an actress. She can learn skills working with the sound stage trees such as barking and how to make splinters....
