just a thought, but possibly missed something, but the ocenaic 6 (or at least jack and kate) knew that it was locke from the false name in newspaper, how the hell did they know that it was locke without some sort of prior contact or code for name???

I don't know how they knew, but when Sayid told Hurley that "Jeremy Benthem" was dead he freaked out. Jack told Ben that Locke had contacted him before, so wouldn't that mean Locke could have contacted the other oceanic 6???

I think Locke may have killed himself. Perhaps the island didn't live up to his expectations. Locke doesn't have much to live for. His nice lady friend, Helen, left him. His mother abandoned him. His father was a right b*****d and is now dead (allegedly). At the end of Season 4 Locke was still asking Ben lots of questions and didn't really look comfortable being in charge (so far).

Besides, Ben has already shot Locke once. Was Locke really healed that much to come back to life?
Resurrection didn't happen for the other dead Losties (like Shannon and Boone) it would seem.

Locke just seems to have led a sad and tragic life and seems fated to remain that way. It's almost like Locke has to go through rotten stuff for others to learn lessons.

As for Locke's new name, he seems to have appeared to most of the Oceanic 6 and told them of his new name and that they had to go back. Hurley, Jack and Kate certainly knew Jeremy Bentham was Locke but why Locke changed his name is anyone's guess. People usually change their name when trying to avoid capture. So Locke has either deserted from the army (seems unlikely in Locke's case ) or committed a heinous crime.

Well, I think locke changed his name, becuase there are people who would want to kill anyone who knew about the island. Locke can't be dead.... the wirters would be STUPID to kill him off now. It's not time for Locke to die, not just yet.

But even if Locke were dead, that isn't necessarily the end for his character is it?

I think Locke dead or alive would always have a pivotal role in LOST. If he is dead, perhaps coming back to the island will "reinvigorate" him as it did Christian Shepherd.

I don't think it is the end of his character. Like in the second or first season I knew he wouldn't die till the end of Lost, and is it the end, no it is not! I hope Locke doesn't turn out like Christian Shepherd, we don't see a lot of him.

Perhaps we will see far more of the resurrected in Season 5?

Locke will be seen a lot because they will have to explain why he came after the Oceanic 6, why his name was Jeremy Bentham and why taking his body back to the island was necessary. We haven't seen the last of Locke I'm sure.
