Well I was watching Forrest Gump last night and what a legendary film it is, when Lieutenant Dan Taylor made this speech, whilst lying on the floor
![]() 'Now, you listen to me. We all have a destiny. Nothing just happens, it's all part of a plan. I should have died out there with my men! But now, I'm nothing but a goddamned cripple! A legless freak. Look! Look! Look at me! Do you see that? Do you know what it's like not to be able to use your legs? Did you hear what I said? You cheated me. I had a destiny. I was supposed to die in the field! With honor! That was my destiny! And you cheated me out of it! You understand what I'm saying, Gump? This wasn't supposed to happen. Not to me. I had a destiny. I was Lieutenant Dan Taylor.' Similarities anyone? :P

I haven't seen Forrest Gump in years!
I think Locke would much rather have lost the use of his legs through active army duty than through his evil excuse of a father. Even though obviously he would have preferred not to have lost the use of his legs at all!

But... like Dan Taylor... do you think Locke would have prefered to have died there and then when he hit the ground, rather than be kept alive and have to use a wheelchair? Obviously at this point he wouldnt have believed that he was going to regain the use of his legs by crashing on a magical island with Jacob and the crew :P
And also Ki, I can tell you that the maximum possible amount of time since you've seen it would be 13 years ![]()

When he was recovering in hospital I think it's very likely that Locke would have wished to have been pushed out of an 18 story window instead, since he had nothing and no-one in his life anyway so yeah, I think Locke probably did at times wish that he had died. But it says something about his strength of character that he then carried on with his life as best as he could, rather than - as far as we know - try to kill himself. Until we fast forward to Ben shooting him into the Dharma pit that is.
Lol although true that is also false, since I remember watching Forrest Gump at least once on tv a few years after its release date :P
