I was watching 'Further Instructions' earlier and i remembered that we didnt really discuss locke as a criminal. How did he go from being studied by the police and being involved in the making of drugs, to someone in a box company? He isn't on the run like kate (although he hasnt killed anyone... well, so far, i think locke may have chased down eddie but thats my opinion) so how did he go from a wanted felon to a box manufacturer

Good question. I sometimes forget that Box packer Locke is actually the most recent Locke (in relation to his flashbacks)
I suppose we're looking for something in between Further Instruction (i.e. pot growing Locke) and The Man from Tallahassee (being pushed out of a window Locke) It's anyone's guess as to how that was resolved; with what we know about Locke's past I would guess that he eventually turns himself in (believing - having faith? - that the police will treat him lightly if he comes clean) only for it to back fire on him - in typical Locke fashion I don't think he killed Eddie. Locke was not a 'killer' before the Island, in my opinion, the whole point of that episode was to highlight that point: he's not a hunter ![]()

Yep... it's the only time he was disabled.
I doubt Locke was ever a fugitive. He's probably just got a criminal record to show for his weed-growing times. Quote:

Hang on, I'm confused now.
Was Locke conned by his father to give up his kidney before or after the pot growing episode and when did he meet and loose Helen?

i think it was after the pot growing episode.
he met helen afterwards at that meeting place, which was before he tried to throw him out the window because he wasn't in a wheelchair at that point.

So can I just summarise this then, do we believe that the order of Lockes episodes is:
1. Deus ex Machina - conned by his father 2. Orientation - meets Helen 3. Lockdown - looses Helen 4. Further Instructions - grows pot 5. The man from Tallahassee - attempted murder by his father 6. Walkabout - in the wheelchair and not 1. Deus ex Machina 2. Further Instructions 3. Orientation 4. Lockdown 5. The man from Tallahassee 6. Walkabout ![]()

With regards to whether Locke did or didn't kill Eddie and what immediately happened to him afterwards, if you check out the promotional pictures on Lost-Media for Further Instructions it's clear to see what happened. But I won't say exactly what in case someone doesn't want to know!
After FI the next time we see him is when he's suffering from depression, so we can only guess as to what happened to him in between, such as if he went to prison or not. I quite like the theories that he agreed to cut a deal with the police - who in turn are actually controlled by Dharma/Widmore/whoever - in order to participate in a study or a test or something, and just as Locke's starting to believe that he actually is useful and important to them - is vital to something big - he's once again dumped and abandoned and that, supported by everything else that's happened to him, brings about his depression. Yeah I'm pretty sure this is the order of Locke's episodes in chronological order, including The Brig: 1. Deus ex Machina - conned by his father 2. Orientation - meets Helen 3. Lockdown - looses Helen 4. Further Instructions - grows pot 5. The man from Tallahassee - attempted murder by his father 6. Walkabout - in the wheelchair 7. The Brig - island flashback (I'm also moving this to the Locke forum)

What I'm wondering about is how long it is since FI and TMFT - couldn't it just be that Locke was convicted and then served his time and was released? Or was there some kind of timeline mentioned on-show that I've forgotten? Although that would only work if he didn't kill Eddie *head swirls*
